My cat is the love of my life

Pet care experience

I’m a local medical student and an avid animal lover. I believe in the healing power that animals have in our lives and am trying to get into doggy sitting not only to help out with the local fur babies but also for myself! I have a cat at home (so no sleep overs at my place), but my cat and I have an open relationship and she doesn’t mind if I see other animals. I grew up around dogs and extremely comfortable with caring for them. My mother has a small herd of dogs back home in Texas, ranging from chihuahuas to cocker spaniels to poodles. While our walks may only be 30 minutes long, your dog will be in good hands.

Dallas is wonderful! You can tell she is genuinely excited to see and play with our two pups. Love the picture and video updates.

Dallas does a great job! She was very reliable and sent several pictures each visit for their report card.

Dallas was so awesome—on time and friendly. She was a complete savior after I broke my foot.

Dallas was such a great sitter. I loved the notes and pictures she sent ever visit. Definitely made me feel better while I was away knowing that she was watching my cat. Definitely will look to her first if I ever need another sitter!

Safety, trust & environment

I always defer to the preferences and comfort level of the owner- you know your pet best! While on their walks with me, they will always be on-leash unless we are at a gated dog park. If I’m housesitting, they will have a nice mix of walks, playtime, and will be closely watched to make sure they have a safe and fun stay-cation!

Information Dallas W. would like to know about your pet

Some basics for dog sitting include: If a dog is crate trained, their daily food and treat allowance, the frequency they will need to go potty at night, and if they have any nighttime routines. In general: I would want to know if your dog is shy or skittish and what their triggers and general walking behaviors are. Do they get along with other dogs or children? Do they like to chase small animals or cars? Or do they eat leaves and rocks? This way, I can be prepared for our walks and make sure your dog is as comfortable and safe as possible.

A typical day

We will go on walks through local parks, and if there is a dog park nearby you can bet we’ll be tearing up the grass there. If they want to sit on a park bench and people watch, or if they want to play some ball, we can do it all. We can also work on some basic training at your request.
