Caring for your furbabies as my own
Pet care experience
I've been volunteering, working, and helping with animals of all sorts since I was eight. From birds, to primates, dogs, cats, fish, I can care for animals of all ages, even newborn kittens. My passion for animals has lead me into vetinary schooling, starting a rescue with my mom, and being here. Pet safety and happiness is first and foremost, and I promise to give your babies the love and care they deserve. I never get angry or harsh with pets, and have experience training puppies and young dogs. Potty trained or not, I can watch your animals. Cats too! I am gentle but energetic, meaning I can be as slow and calm, or fun and rowdy as your pet needs! Feel free to put requests for pictures, videos, calls, updates, anything, anytime!

Dakota is one of the best people i know to take care of any animal, She's been working will all types of pets from a young age and even cherishes a strangers dog when passing it on the street. Helping care for dogs is absolutely a passion for her.
Dakota is very compassionate and intuitive with animals. She's taken care of a large variety of animals of ours, and we've always been really happy and worry-free with her. We definitely recommend her.
Dakota is great with all animals. She absolutely loves every animal she meets like her own. She’s taken care of all of my pets and does a wonderful job with them.

I treat all pets with love and respect, and can even work with aggressive, anxious, or excitable animals. I can feed, water, and treat pets as requested, give as many updates (pictures, videos, calls, etc) and work around your schedule. I can give cats and dogs oral medications, flea treatments, eyes, ears, etc and will have them putside and walking as much, or as little as you want. I can crate, muzzle, or run with your animal, and work with the rules and layout of your home. I can stay in your home for minutes, hours, or even a day or two at your request. From check ups to all nighters, I'm willing to work.
Information Dakota J. would like to know about your pet
Not much will catch me off guard, but some helpful info for me is how your dog is with kids, as later in the day the middle school in my neighborhood let's out, and children walk home most of the time. There are also a few other dog walkers, and some stray and (friendly) feral cats. Knowing how your dog reacts to certain Triggers on walks such as cars, birds, bikes, and any startling sounds such as thunder or planes will help me be prepared to comfort or distract your dog so it isn't stressed or uncomfortable. For house visits I must know things such as food aggressive behavior and if the dog is allowed on furniture, and it always helps to know if a dog is prone to marking. Other than that, any medications, even injections, are doable as long as I am given details on how to administer it comfortably to your dog.
A typical day
I will provide plenty of play time, potty breaks, and snuggling for dogs. For owners that give regular treats, vitamins, or special additions to mealtimes I can take the extra rime to prep no problem. If you want certain amount of time outside, in a crate (for training or exposure), or doing a specific activity, I will be happy to oblige as long as I have details about any special needs your pet has. For walking area, there is a small wooded area perfect for dogs as it is shaded, lots of trees, but free of snakes, ticks, and other unsavory insects. It's also a common walking place for a few people, meaning your pooch may get extra love, especially from kids walking home from school later in the day (if your dog doesn't like children then of course I can avoid this.) I myself have plenty of energy to play tug-of-war, chase, fetch, or any other exciting game your pet may want. Don't worry though, we can still totally chill and take it slow, especially for senior dogs who want to pause in the warm sun, or the cool shade.
