Your Full Time for Doggy Caregiver!
Pet care experience
I have extensive experience with dogs of all sizes and breeds - including Great Danes, American Staffordshire Terrier (a/k/a pit bulls), German Shephard, Siberian Huskey, miniature poodle, Lhasa and my own "grandpup" a Blue Heeler/Australian Shepherd mix (aka Texas Heeler). Being retired, I am available for a single night or two to a week or two. I find pet families tend to do better in their home environment and have the availability to provide that. I'm not limited to caring for dogs, as I have a heart for all animals and they seem to have an immediate comfort level with me as well...there's nothing like taking regular long walks with a pet baby, entertaining a Great Dane that decides to sit on your lap to cuddle, holding a pit bull close when they're afraid of the fire works, or interacting with a little pup or cat that is normally suspicious doing to same. I understand the need for long walks and/or play time for all canine breeds and being available for a cat to play or just interact when THEY choose the time or place. I have been lucky to make my own animal family my priority in my retirement and would love to add your babies when you aren't available to do so yourself. My long term sitting includes a minimum of 16 hours in your home, caring for plants, getting mail and any other agreed to duties. I often spend the full 24 hours IN YOUR HOME WITH YOUR PET!! That far exceeds what most other sitters have available. I do sitting for a few regulars so please allow plenty of time to schedule my services. ,I have no breed preference nor do I have any that I would want to avoid. Age is not a concern, I love all animals young and old. I would like to know the typical schedule of the furbaby from the start of their day to bedtime so I can maintain the schedule they are familiar and comfortable with. I would like, when possible, to spend time with the pup and the family for an hour or so to give the pet a chance to be comfortable with me and know I am accepted by his or her pack.
A typical day
I love long walks in almost any kind weather, especially on nature paths (when available). I've become rather good playing frisbee and fetch with my grandpup, which can be altered to use a softer toy for the less experienced, older or smaller furbabies. Most important is to take a instructions from the family and cues from the pup itself as to what its favorite pastimes are, and to incorporate that into our daily playtime. Should my visit be for an extended visit during the family's absence, I also like to keep the home in pristine condition so the family can return home and only concern themselves with the fun of reuniting with their babies.
