Shih Tzu/Poodle/Toy Breed Lover

Pet care experience

Hello, I'm Cynthia and it's nice to meet you here at Rover. I love dogs and offer a comfortable, trustworthy haven for your furry friend. My friends call me the dog-whisperer and that I have a special communication style with dogs which I love. I listen, observe and pay special attention to your best friend; dogs easily trust and love me because they know I am keenly aware of their needs. I follow his/her regimen, provide purified drinking water, and your pups love to hang out on the furniture, porch, or deck areas. I am knowledgeable about dogs, oversee their eating/drinking habits, brushing/grooming, or whether they are itching too much. Dogs trust me right away knowing I am as sensitive to their needs just like you are to theirs. I just relocated to my hometown from Seattle, have a dog-friendly house, fenced in deck, and Piccolo Park is nearby. I am extremely careful with your pup around other dogs, and make sure she/he are always safe and comfortable. I have a great porch for people watching that my furry friends love, and a fenced-in deck for fresh air. My Shih Tzu was 16 when he passed, and although I miss him very much, I am passionate about helping dog lovers until the time comes for me to bring a new best friend home. Been a Rover sitter since Jobi passed and I love caring for dogs. I look forward to hearing from you and how I can care for your best friend(s). I run my business from home and around your pup most of the day unless at the gym, grocery store, usually short leaves or I take dog(s) with me in my car where I may use a dog seat belt along with a pad for them to rest on. Dogs that I care for feel they're on vacation with me, and I say this because they have me by their side most of the time. I send pictures and updates for you to choose to respond or not. What I want most is for you to enjoy your time away from your best friends knowing that they're safe and taken care of.

I appreciated that Cynthia was keen for a meet-up prior to committing to sit our pups, as it shows thoughtfulness and intention in ensuring a good fit. Throughout the several-day stay she communicated well with lots of photos and updates, making us feel at ease that the pups were being well taken care of. Would book again and definitely recommend!

Cynthia was a wonderful host to our dog for a week! She was very flexible when we needed to arrange the meet and greet, and a quick communicator. I could tell she really bonded with our dog and sent plenty of photos and updates 😊 She even wrote a little card saying goodbye and thank you after we picked up our dog. I would recommend her!

Cynthia took great care of our pups when we were gone for Thanksgiving. She sent frequent updates with photos and asked the right questions to ensure they were happy and well cared for. She even helped with some training. Highly recommend.

Great sitter for our dog Zuko. She helps him feel comfy and relaxed and is very careful with his medications. We love having her as one of Zuko's regular sitters!

Information Cynthia P. would like to know about your pet

Shih Zhu, Poodles, Minis, non-shedding breeds. Non-barking or rarely barking dogs. Bathed before their stay or arrangements for me to. Dogs 25 lbs.+ are a case-by-case basis. Rover shows up to 40lbs for a medium dog, and that's too large for me. I must have the ability to pick up just in case - is why. My rates are in 24-hour increments, 2-night minimum, and extra day time/fee may apply. 4+ walks a day, special-feeding is ok, and purified water are all included in rate. Special needs can increase fee depending on ritual. Bring a crate, playpen, collar, leash, harness, dog food, treats, food/water bowls, bed or brush. Veterinarian and local contact - I must be on file at your vet for an emergency-only basis. Meet and greets are best if this is your first time with me.

A typical day

I love caring for dogs, and with 17+ years of experience, I am proactive and able to adapt to unforeseen situations. I can reinforce good habits, dog-walking skills, fresh purified-water often, and exceed your expectations with lots of pictures and communication (if you like) during their stay. Walk about 4 times a day, have a small yard for quick potties, and have paw wipes. Dogs sit near me, on me, or on the ottoman. My clients say that their dog(s) are on vacation when in my care, and I tend to agree with this statement.
