My husband and I love dogs and have each been dog owners in our lives. When we are in LA, we primarily work at home. But we do travel on occasion for business. For this reason, we have opted to not have a dog. To fill the pet void in our lives, we have joined several sites that match pet owners who will be away from home with pet sitters who want to visit a particular domestic or international locale. To date, we have had three great experiences - taking care of pets in their own homes. We have received three great references and made new friends (both two-legged and four-legged) in the process. In addition, we have become the "go to" couple for our friends in the LA area who have pets that need care while their owners are away. We are a mature couple (not sure how that happened) who hopes to replicate our travelling dogsitting experience locally in the LA area while we are home. We love to take dogs on walks in our neighborhood and can also easily visit the Silverlake dog park. And the dogs in the neighborhood will tell you we are "treat-central."
