Dogs Are a Woman's Best Friend!

Pet care experience

I cannot think of a better way to raise money for our daughter's college education at University of Washington - Seattle, than to provide loving care to dogs and cats! Here is a bit of my story: Dogs have been a love of my life since I was a kid! I was lucky enough to have my childhood dog, Pepper, Miniature Schnauzer, halfway through college. My daughter and her childhood dog, Oliver, terrier mix, chose each other. Oliver was our true love. He lived for 11 years., until 23 October 2022. If we could, we would bring him back in a heartbeat. Our little guy had medical issues that we addressed daily, including administration of insulin twice each day. He eventually developed diabetic cataracts. Oliver acclimated to life without sight quickly, and our family was right by his side. We learned a different way to communicate and guide him. We showered Oliver with love, and he returned it tenfold. You experience a similar state with your own dog and/or cat, I'm certain. My daughter and I dog sit our neighbors' three darling dogs most days. We have also taken care of friends' and neighbors' dogs and cats. Lucky us! As far as we are concerned, a day with a dog(s), is a day well-spent. I enjoy taking photos of dogs and cats , and I will let you know what your pup/kitty has been up to on her/his holiday. We would love to provide care for your precious best friend. Here's to our furry friends and the joy they bring all of us! p.s. My profile photo was taken near Lake Como in Italy. I was enjoying a natural juice drink prior to boarding a boat for Bellagio. We pet every dog we could, while abroad.

Cynthia is AMAZING! Our dog loves going to stay at her house. It’s like taking him to a doggy spa. She’s incredibly attentive to him, making sure he gets all the walks, cuddles, playtime, and comfy naps he needs. Plus, she provides amazing (hilarious) updates, which helps us feel okay about leaving our little guy behind (so we can relax and enjoy our time away). I 100% recommend Cynthia, and would absolutely book with her again. Can’t say enough good things about her.

Cynthia was amazing! It was the first time we’d left our dog with someone other than family; not only did she make it easy to leave our dog, she made it fun! Her updates and photos made it feel more like sharing our dog rather than leaving our dog behind. Cynthia was patient with our shy dog, such that despite it usually taking awhile to warm up to people, our dog seemed comfortable after just a short time. We would absolutely leave our dog with Cynthia again!

I cannot say enough good things about Cynthia and the care she provided our four month old pup, Scout. It was our puppy’s first overnight away, and Cynthia went above and beyond to make her comfortable. Cynthia checked in often and calmed all our nerves. She and her family are wonderful and our puppy cannot wait to return!

We have a yard without a fence. Oliver loved to sit outside with us. I take my dog friends on walks around our dog friendly neighborhood. If your dog is safe to take to a dog park, we can venture out to meet other dogs. Your dog can sleep on one of our beds or in her/his own bed, whichever is preferred. If your dog loves toys, bring them along. We will have playtime. If your dog is more comfortable in her/his own home, it would be my pleasure to visit, take your pup for a walk, and provide additional needed care.

Information Cynthia & Mark H. would like to know about your pet

I'd love to know the following: veterinarian contact information, feeding and toileting schedule, special needs, allergies, sleeping preferences, likes and dislikes, behaviors with people and other dogs, overall behaviors, personality description, ways to make your dog feel at home and happy.

A typical day

We live in a dog friendly neighborhood, and I would take your dog on lots of walks to sniff and explore. If your dog likes to play, I'm down with that. Puppy pose! Petting, scratching, massaging and belly rubbing will woven in throughout the each day of your dog's staycation. I love photographing dogs, and will send you updates about all of the fun your pup is having. I know you will miss each other, and it's peace of mind to know your friend is in good hands.
