It was Easter, I was about 12yrs old when I recieved my first pet. A golden Dutch rabbit named Elvis. My dad had never let me have a pet when I was younger, he said a pet is a lot of responsibility. I had to feed and water and give my rabbit either a carrot, watermelon, or fresh alfalfa daily, and every couple of days I had to go outside and clean his 2 bedroom condo my dad built for him. Thanks to my father may he rest in peace, I learned about the commitment it takes to be a pet parent. I am now 35yrs old and have learned alot about all kinds of different animals. I can’t help it, I’ve helped numerous strays,abandoned,lost, injured, or sick animals. I can’t help it my heart won’t let me allow an animal to suffer if I know I can make a difference in its life. Now when it comes to my own pets especially my cat kush that I’ve had for 13 yrs, he is my world! There’s nothing I won’t do for him, I’d feed him before feeding myself if it came down to it! When I hired someone from rover, I hoped for a sincere loving person that would care for him as atleast almost as good as myself. Now the girl is got seemed great but honestly I’m not sure if she spent the full amount of time, played with him, administer meds like I’d instructed she may have or may have not I don’t know. That’s when I decided to become a sitter, because my love for animals and the way I love my cat allows me to provide your pet/s with the same care I’d expect or hope for my own and nothing less.
