I currently have THREE German Shorthaired Pointers. I'm pretty sure all three think they are little humans with four legs. I would prefer dogs of a similar size as I can provide a playful environment for them with my own dogs but we also have an acre fenced that allows me to separate the dogs should that be necessary. We allow the dogs in the house, we feed in the house and typically all are crated during sleeping hours at night. All three of my teenagers love to run with and cuddle with animals. I work from home and have a very flexible schedule. Quite a lot of my time is spent with my own pets and our yard is secure and kept in a manner to wear out our highly energetic dogs! A pet's typical day with us would likely look like, an early morning feeding and then immediate play time and interaction with me for upwards of 30 minutes to an hour. Typically at least 30 minute long walk around mid day and most of the day spent in my own company in our home with toys and interaction inside if the dog is not comfortable around other dogs. If they are comfortable around other dogs they can be allowed to roam and play with my own three dogs in our fenced one acre plot for a few hours. I work nights and work from home in a building on the same property about 20 feet from my house, so even when I am working I am accessible to the dogs and tend to take frequent breaks to play. Around 7 pm all dogs are fed again and taken out for potty time and a night time play session to wear them out for bed. Bedtime sees all dogs in kennels or crates for safety inside my home where I can hear should they need something during the night.
