Pet care experience

I Am Currently Only Accepting Cat Sitting Visits! I have worked in the pet care industry since 2005 not only as a pet sitter and dog walker but also in dog daycare and boarding, grooming, rescue, and veterinary receptionist. I previously owned my own pet sitting and dog walking company City Paws LA in Los Angeles, CA. I sold it in February 2016 to move to Sacramento. My company and I serviced over 400 homes from 2011 to 2016 and had nothing but 5-star reviews on Yelp. I now work independently in the Sacramento area. I love all pets equally regardless of age, size, breed, and temperament and I love rescues. CATS: I love cats and have a very good rapport with them. I am able to respect the boundaries of shy kitties as well as give tons of love and play to the extrovert types. I understand cat body language very well. I also know to look out for signs of distress such as out of box urination and vomiting. I will clean up after them. I always will follow your feeding instructions and take care to not let them get out of the house. My 30-minute cat sit will consist each visit of water bowl clean and change, feeding if requested, litter scooping, and indoor love, play, and cuddles. If they are kittens or very spunky I will make sure I play a lot with them to help get out some energy. DOGS: I have a very good understanding of dog behavior and body language and am able to gain the trust and handle all different ages and kinds of dogs including rescues. I have safe handling techniques and protocol that I have developed throughout time from experience and training. These include a double attachment system I have for pets who wear harnesses and using non-slip martingale collars on top of their normal collars with ID unless they have a medical or behavioral reason for not being able to use a collar. My walks of 30 minutes for healthy dogs consist of only a few minutes to allow elimination with most of our walk being dedicated to giving them some good exercise. I can also walk slow and be gentle for older, ill, or tiny pets. My 30-minute pet sit will consist of a fifteen-minute potty walk/supervised yard time and fifteen minutes of indoor love, play, and cuddles. If they use pee pads I will do clean up and change outs and then quality time. For young puppies who can not go outside yet, I will make sure we play a lot inside to help get out some energy. MY POLICIES: - All the cats I take care of while a customer is out of town must be seen every day. No skipping days with cat visits. - Cats will remain indoors while under my care. - All scheduling and communication will be done through this application. I do not conduct business over the phone or text other than casual conversation and general questions. I check and answer messages between 10 AM & 7 PM My prices for Dog walking and drop-in visits are subject to change at any time except for bookings that are already confirmed and paid for.

Cristina is a trustworthy, caring, responsible and truly amazing person and dog walker. She walked my dog for over two years and sadly moved away otherwise she would still be walking my dog. Cristina loved my dog as if she was her own and I felt reassured knowing that my dog was in her hands. Cristina is very thorough trying to understand my dog's needs and behavior and was very accommodating. I could not recommend Cristina more highly. She is a really wonderful, big-hearted person and has a special way with animals.

Information Cristina V. would like to know about your pet

During our meet and greet please give me some basic info about your pet so I can know how I can be of service. Our meeting should be between 20-30 minutes. -Any important medical history I should know of? Past or current illness, injury, or allergies? Any medications they take? - If your pet has any fear and/or aggression towards people, whether a child or adult, please be honest and upfront with we me about it. I understand some pets have certain challenges and in general, as long as they have not injured you or someone else before, I may still be able to help! (I can go over more specifics about how I handle people vs. pet aggression. I am patient and love rescues!) -If you have marked your dog on their profile as aggressive with other dogs, I can still be of service. I will stay clear of other dogs on walks and in apartment buildings. -Although I am strong and can walk almost any dog I will not be able to walk dogs over 60 lbs that pull hard on leashes despite using a gentle leader, easy walk harness, pinch collar, or a combination thereof. I do not use choke collars but will use a martingale, pinch collar, as a non-slip alternative method of control. - Will there be any other pets in your home that I should be aware of? - Anything else that would be important for me to know about your pet? - Please make sure you have a good working copy of your home key ready when we meet. If you made a copy of your key PLEASE TEST IT BEFORE OUR MEETING. If a key is not given to me during our meet-and-greet there will be an additional charge to make a separate trip to pick it up. -We will also go over the basics of home security and cleaning/pet supplies, where pets are allowed as well as an emergency contact. - And of course, we'll go over your pets regular routine and feeding. Thank you for reading my profile and I hope to be hearing from you soon.
