Great with all animals!

Pet care experience

UPDATE-if you have read the review where the dog got out, I’d like to assure that issue’s been addressed. Please look at the recently uploaded pictures of the fence. We reinforced the entire interior with plastic chicken wire (so as not to injure anyone with the metal one). Thank you for understand that while we cannot predict every issue that may arise, we are diligent in finding solutions to protect the safety of your fur babies 🫶🏽 I’ve had all kinds of pets since I can remember, everything from cats and dogs, to birds and a rabbit. I even had a rat once! I’m extremely comfortable with all breeds big and small. I’m fit and can walk short and long distances comfortably. I offer full service care, feeding, baths, playtime, nap time, and medication administration. We are a very loving home. I have been on Rover for a while now, and we absolutely LOVE how many pups we’ve met through this app! It’s now a family affair and my children look forward to who we’re meeting next, as well as our regulars! Your fur babies will be well cared for in our home. We look forward to meeting you!

I believe my dog was safe and unharmed with Cristina, however, I won’t be leaving my dog with her again. Although my dog appeared happy when I picked her up, having used several Rovers over the years, there are much better experiences out there, and individuals who treat Rover like a professional business. Some other things that negatively impacted my impression are… 1.) Upon retrieving my dog, there was too much leftover food after the visit, which either indicates that my dog wasn’t fed properly, or that my dog was fed the wrong food. Either way, it’s unacceptable and unprofessional for a paid service in my opinion. 2.) Upon retrieving my dog, Cristina was not present to return my dog. It was her young daughter (Cristina wasn’t to be found) which I think is also unprofessional. 3.) Minimal communication and pictures later in the stay. However, she communicated very quickly when prompted. As mentioned, I don’t feel my dog was harmed or neglected. I just don’t think Cristina takes caring for others’ animals as professionally as she should.

Do not leave your pets with Cristina. I left my healthy and happy 1-year old female cane corso, Bella, for one week and picked her up in very poor condition. While, admittedly, it was a last minute reservation because the sitter I had originally scheduled canceled at the last minute--when I collected Bella she had severe dehydration--which was visible both from the 1) severely damaged and cracked tissue around her normally black nose and 2) from the fact that she LOST ~19-20LBS OF HER ~95LB BODY MASS IN A WEEK. I know the exact amount because of a weigh-in at her vet only a few weeks prior, and because I weighed her immediately upon returning home where I discovered the extent to which her ribs and spine were exposed. If a human lost this large of a percentage of their bodyweight in a week-- they would severely dehydrated it would be very bad for their health. While I can only speculate as to the cause(s) of Bella's severe weight loss, here are a few facts that inform my view: - Upon dropping Bella off, Cristina, wasn't home and her underage daughter took responsibility for my dog. Cristina was also not present immediately when I picked up my dog, despite us being in close contact all day, up until the time of pickup, which was ultimately the end of the range of times that we initially agreed to. - When I dropped my dog off, I noticed scratch marks next to the front door, leaving her home. I also noticed that there were several dogs in crates as well as one dog outside, which I believe was Cristina's as she explained that her dog was not friendly to other dogs (red flag). - When I gathered my dog on the last day of her stay, Cristina had no idea which bowls were Bellas, which food was hers or which leash. This was troubling because I made it very clear in my overview profile that I dont keep water from Bella, or food for the most part, but definitely not water. - My dog has never destroyed doors, walls or molding at any of the other Rover sitters's homes in the past. However, about two days into Bella's stay, in response to a regular check-in text Cristina claimed that Bella had developed terrible anxiety and was scratching the molding/doors to the rooms where she was being kept, when Cristina and her family were out and about doing holiday stuff. - What is odd here is that Cristina effectively shuttled bella into different rooms throughout the house and proceeded to leave her alone until all of the rooms had damage, which seems foolish and even untruthful - Now, initially I felt bad that my dog had conceivably caused such a headache and I offered to help pay for fixing the initially reported damage.--something that the Rover terms of service specifically articulate are the sitters responsibility. However, it started to get very suspicious because Cristina essentially said that she couldn't do anything about it because of the number of dogs she was keeping at one time. - So instead of crater her or let her stay in a room with a person over night Cristina proceeded to keep Bella under the same circumstances in a different room each night until "all of the doors/molding" throughout her house was damaged. Only when this had happened did the "try and put her in a metal crate" which Cristina alleges Bella then broke out of, only to repeat the same behavior. - When I picked up Bella and received a fulsome tour, upon Cristina finally arriving and us meeting for the first time, each of the doors had the same type of damage as I noticed at the front door when I initially dropped Bella off. There was no evidence of a damaged cage and in fact, Bella was being kept in a large metal crate in a room with two other dogs. Again no water dish present or anything else. - Now, I do not believe that my dog did what Cristina is claiming. However, when Cristina later had her "friend who is a contractor" draft up a quote for the damages at nearly $1k, I nearly lost it. Now to reiterate, according to Rover's guidelines, it is the sitter who is financially responsible for leaving a pet in a situation where the animal damages property. But, having had some doors replaced in my time, this seemed very expensive and an attempt to extract value from me for offering to chip in for damages...on the first day. So from all of these facts here is my conclusion. Cristina is biting off more than she can chew in terms of watching multiple dogs at a time and consequently, neglecting their care to the point where they could be severely injured. Damages or not, you don't neglect my pet like that, she was completely dehydrated, emaciated and nearly two full weeks later the scabs around her nostrils are still healing. To try and take advantage of my initial offer to help pay for damages, in such a suspect way, on top of providing such poor physical care for my animal makes me deeply angry. Do not leave your pet with Cristina S.
