Dog Lover Family
Pet care experience
I have had dogs all my life. When I was 19, I got my own Basset hound, and I confess I felt like a mother for the first time, he lived through 10 happy years. When we got married, we were too busy with work and then with babies, and we decided to hold on the dog. But as soon as my kids were old enough to enjoy the company of the dog, we got a chocolate Lab and I re-discovered that dogs are an essential part of my existence. Kinto got cancer at a very young age and passed away, we were devastated but he left our hearts open for more dogs. Three months later we adopted Geo (our border collie mix). Geo is so grateful and happy, but he's not a kennel dog, so this is why I decided to join Rover: to give him the opportunity to find a nice sitter and also to offer us as family for other dogs. We are a family of five (mom, dad, son -14, daughter 12, and Geo 5 & 1/2). We just love dogs! We love the idea of giving Geo an opportunity to make friends and play during the day, while providing other dogs with a nice and comfy home to stay when their families are away. I don't accept more than ONE dog at a time, so it's always Geo (who's an incredible host) and your dog. We have a very safe fenced backyard with enough space for the dogs to run, smell, chase balls, and relax. We are a very organized and responsible family, who just love dogs. We have the patience, love, and energy for one more dog in our house.
Reviews
Cristina and her family took wonderful care of our dog, Ike. It was his first time being away from home so we were worried he would have anxiety but they made him feel very comfortable and he adjusted quickly to their home. We were also grateful to receive daily updates and pictures to let us know how he was doing. Thank you!
Cristina did an excellent job taking care of Brandi. She loves dogs and was able to give Brandi a lot of attention. She sent us pictures every day with comments on how she was doing. She went out of her way in many ways to make Brandi feel at home.
Cristina and her family were excellent taking care of Brandi. Brandi enjoyed playing with Gro, their dog. They have a big yard to run in and she got a lot of attention from the family. Cristina send pictures both days. We were extremely happy with Brandi's experience and they seemed to enjoy having Brandi with them.
Cristina is a wonderful dog sitter! From our Meet and Greet, I could tell she was very compassionate about the pets she cared for and is very happy to let them enjoy her house as though it were their own. Our dog stayed for 4 nights and came home very happy! Cristina sent pictures everyday to show us how our dog was acclimating to his new homes and gave us several text updates each day of his activities. I highly recommend Cristina!

Please carefully review rover's policy regarding schedule and times: you should reserve the service from the date and time you drop your dog off at my home until the date to pick him up (same time!), I can always adjust the price depending on dropping or picking up hours. If you drop your dog off on a Friday morning and your are booking a two-night stay, you should pick it up Sunday morning. If you need to pick him up on Sunday afternoon or evening, then you need to book an extra daycare to cover Sunday's stay. The whole dog's stay should be covered by rover insurance. I don't take puppies, or dogs younger than a year-old, not because I don't like them (I LOVE puppies!) but because I noticed that my dog, a border collie mix, gets anxious with puppies' stamina and tends to discipline them. Honesty is very important for an excellent dog sitting experience. Please tell me EVERYTHING about your dog: routines, anxieties and fears, favorite activities, potty schedule, sleep habits, etc. The more I know, the more I will able to accommodate your dog's needs to make his stay a great experience for you and for your dog. I will do my best to keep your dog's routine, but I will be also very honest if I can't (3.00 am potty time is not possible for me) and even though I offer constant vigilance because there's always someone at home, your dog should be able to stay alone for at least a couple of hours, always in a different room from my dog.
A typical day
We just want dogs to be happy in our home. They can sleep with us in our bedroom, in our kids' bedrooms, or in a crate outside my bedroom if you prefer so (just make sure you bring the crate). We are usually home every day of the week. My husband works from home three days a week, and I work here two days a week, so dogs will always have a human company (with visits to the grocery store, bank, kid's afternoon activities). We can also walk them out during the afternoons, and our kids love to play with dogs in the backyard, so they will get plenty of exercise. Our dog, Geo, is a wonderful host, he gets along with all kinds of dogs, he's always ready to play but he is not pushy, he knows how to respect other's dogs spaces and times. If you are looking for a loving and responsible family, and an exclusive care for your dog (I only take one dog at a time), book your dog's stay with us!
