Pet care experience
I have taken care of many different kinds of animals since I was a child. From small and large dogs, cats, hamsters, Guinea pigs, rabbits, ferrets, small birds, to snakes, turtles and tortoises, bearded dragons, and tegu lizards. Neighbors, friends and family have relied on me to care for their pets when needed. I have experience with senior and special needs dogs, puppies and high energy fur babies. My family currently shares our home with 4 dogs - a 13yo shih tzu with cancer, my 4yo labradoodle who loves to join me on hikes, a wire fox terrier puppy with endless energy, and a cocker spaniel puppy who gives the terrier a run for his money - along with two cats - an 11yo sassy Persian, and a 4yo tabby who never met a treat he didn’t like. It’s a menagerie at home, where these family pets stay whenever I am privileged to spend time spoiling other fur babies while their humans are away. I am always surrounded by dogs, and (crazily?) talk to them as if they can understand/respond. We have had dogs with special needs, diabetes, cancer, that were blind and deaf, and many picky eaters.
Reviews
Cristen seems to do great with our doggies and our home is always at least as clean as we left it when she house sits for us. We will continue to request her for future doggy care needs.
If we could give Cristen 10 out of 5 stars, we would! We are first time Rover users and we were very unsure about having someone stay in our home. We met Cristen prior to booking her, and she was extremely professional, experienced, and clearly a dog lover. We took a leap of faith and are so glad we did. She is an absolute gem. While we were away, Cristen sent us twice daily detailed updates including photos of our dogs. She went above and beyond in her care for them, giving them so much attention and the exercise they needed. She was communicative and it was obvious that she is responsible, reliable, and trustworthy. When we came home our house was immaculate and cleaner than when we left. She’s amazing & we would recommended her to anyone.
Cristen did an awesome job watching our dog over the weekend. This is the second time we’ve booked her and will definitely book with her again.
We had the best experience with Cristen! Cristen stayed at our home with our senior dog, Sophie, while we were away. She was extremely attentive and in addition to detailed daily updates and tons of great photos, she immediately alerted us to a hot spot she noticed Sophie licking on her hind leg that we hadn't seen. She gave her lots of love and attention, was very trustworthy, and our house was impeccable when we returned. She was everything we could have asked for in a dog sitter, and we can’t wait to have Cristen stay with Sophie again soon!

Each pet is unique, and I am prepared to earn their trust and be their secondary best friend (to you of course) with rewarding and fulfilling play, companionship and care.
Information Cristen C. would like to know about your pet
What does a typical day for them look like? What, if any, commands are they trained with? Any things to avoid/things they shouldn’t be doing (examples might be - no human food, no leaving them alone with certain objects, etc)? Do they have a favorite toy or treat, place to walk, spot to be pet/get scritches? How are they around other dogs and humans of all sizes?
A typical day
I had to get creative with my geriatric girl who was mostly blind and deaf, but still had her sense of smell! I would hide treats around a room for her to sniff them out. Playtime is always catered to the dog’s unique personality - tug of war, fetch, chase, walks and sniffairs, etc.
