Vet Assistant Ready for Furry Pals!

Pet care experience

Pups are simply our best friends! They’re there to help you in the tough times, and always ready to make us as happy as can be. They’re a blessing to us, and their selfless spirit is amazing. In fact, it’s what inspired me to become a dog sitter in the first place! I believe that dogs just want to be loved just like us, and it’s my duty to provide that to them. I love bringing puppy happiness into the world, so being a sitter really is a dream come true for me. Although I’ve been a lifelong dog lover, my experience with pups doesn’t just end there! I’ve had many dogs throughout my life, but unfortunately don’t have any of my own right now. That allows me to give your pup my full and undivided attention and love! Also, I currently work at a veterinary clinic as a vet assistant, so I have plenty of experience providing professional care to pups in need. I'm currently in school (online) to become a vet tech as well, so the training just keeps on coming! I’ve also worked at PetSmart as a professional pet bather in the grooming salon. No matter what, your pup will be in great hands! When taking on a new client, I typically like to schedule a meet-and-greet. It’s a great way to make sure that we’re all a good fit for one another, which is so important to me. Likewise, it gives us the opportunity to chat face-to-face about your pup and your care expectations. No one knows your dog better than you do, so it’s always great to chat with owners in person about what makes their pup tick! Finally, I just love meeting new dogs! I like to get down on their level to show them that I’m a welcome presence here to make friends, and I’m sure we’ll be best buddies in no time at all. When your pup is under my care, I always put their safety first and foremost. I make sure to bring extra slip leads with me when I take the dogs out for walks, as you just never know when something like that is going to come in handy. When we’re out and about, I tend to just keep to ourselves. Most dogs are friendly, but I never want to gamble on your pup’s safety. I also make sure to monitor the dogs, especially since it has gotten hot to make sure they're not spending a lot of time in the heat. Lastly, I am always open for any concerns or questions, so never hesitate to reach out and ask! Likewise, my vet experience allows me to spot anything out of the ordinary, so owners will always be kept up-to-date on anything that they need to know.

courtney is our go to dog sitter and dog walker!! we couldn't trust her more with our precious 13 year old golden retriever. she is super responsible, easy to communicate with and couldn't be more sweet. we love that she works at a vets office because we know our pup will be in good hands if anything goes wrong while we are away.

Courtney is just awesome with animals! She works at a Vet hospital near where I work. One day someone abandoned their dog and she immediately took photos and a video of him and posted it on facebook and asked everyone she knew if they could adopt him. She has had a lot of experience walking, grooming, and caring for dogs and cats. She's a natural! I'd highly recommend her for Rover.

Courtney was so great and loving for my pet Sushi. She really made feel like I was her most important priority and also was very good about updating me about my pet. I didn't go through Rover when I first met her, but I wanted to make sure people knew how lovely this girl was! I was so worried about my dates not working out or her having to stop in my house instead of staying the night, but she was really understanding and helpful. She even offered to water my plants and pick up my mail. Which wasn't a big deal, but I appreciate her taking the time to do more for me. I would definitely recommend her to friends and I look forward to booking with her again. Thanks soo much!!

Information Courtney V. would like to know about your pet

Some things I like to learn ahead of time: - Would you like to schedule a meet-and-greet before the stay? - What’s your preferred method of communication? - Does your pup have any health issues that need to be tended to? For instance, dietary restrictions, medicine, or behavior triggers? - Do you have a vet nearby that you trust? - Is your dog spayed/neutered? - Does your pup like to stick to a given schedule, like regular walks in the morning and evening? - What does your pup do well around? What does your pup try to avoid? - What’s the best way to spoil your pup?

A typical day

What I love most about my neighborhood is that it's very pet-friendly! It’s not noisy or loud, and there are tons of great things to do around town. Although we don't have a dog park, we do have a huge trail/hike area that most people take their pets. It’s wide open and spacious—and dogs love it! If your pup wants to explore out a little bit, we also have a couple of parks nearby too. The closest big park near me would be the Cherry Creek dog park. I try my best to make sure the younger pets get the most exercise since they are still growing. For the older pets, I'll try not to have them outside as much. However, I always think a good 30 minute walk would be ideal for the most part, but am always happy to get more or less depending on your dog’s needs.
