I am a PhD candidate who loves having a buddy by my side and to stretch my legs between writing sessions. I work remotely and have a lot of flexibility in my schedule to adapt to your pup’s care needs. I started sitting for my friend’s dogs on occasion 10 years ago and have a lot of experience watching dogs of all sizes and temperaments, from Chihuahuas to St Bernards to German Shepherds. Most dogs are naturally comfortable around me, I love couch snuggles and can keep them entertained with plenty of playing/fetch/tug-of-war. I have the comforting skills to soothe anxious dogs and love going on frequent and long walks. I love having the company and provide lots of love and affection! I have experience administering oral, topical, and eye medication and have tended to injuries (eg, pups with healing dog bites). I am happy to accommodate your requests, schedule, and preferences. I look forward to meeting your pup soon! I work 100% remotely and mostly independently, so I my schedule is pretty flexible so I can adapt to your dog's regular routine. Let me know their schedule and I'll make it work on my end :-) I like take walking breaks every few hours. I enjoy playing fetch and staying engaged with the dogs throughout the day to keep them entertained. Communication is a top priority for me. You will receive updates everyday with pics and status of how your pup’s day is going. If there are any issues or questions about handling something I will let you know right away. For boarding, I keep my one bedroom apartment clean and “dog proofed” so that pups cannot get into things they shouldn’t (trash is kept under the sink). My apartment faces a courtyard so we don’t hear much traffic or business on the streets outside the building. With sliding doors, it’s a great spot for pups to hang out by the window and watch the occasional landscaper or neighbor hanging out. I have blankets on top of my couch, chairs, and bed so they are welcome to hang out there. I also keep a basket of some toys. Everything gets washed between sits. For housesitting, my mom taught me to always leave a space better than when you entered. I always keep everything clean and will wash my own sheets/towels at the end of the sit. Respect and trust are very important to me and I assure you that I will stick to any boundaries or rules you may have. I also don’t mind doing any necessary house duties like plant watering or taking in mail/packages, etc. I have built trust with several families who have had me back many times to housesit and care for their pups while away.

A typical day
Long walks, preferably near the water. There is a large residential neighborhood around my apartment, making for a great dog walking environment. I used to throw the javelin in high school, and can throw a mean tennis ball, just let me know what park your pup loves! I love playing with dogs indoors and outdoors, and welcome snuggles on the couch. Your pup will get lots of love and affection!

Availability
I’m currently a PhD candidate at UW, with a lot of flexibility in my schedule. I work 100% remotely and can accommodate my day to match the schedule your pet is used to. Typically, I do 3 longer walks (30-60 min) a day (wake-up, noon, pre-dinner) with a potty before bed. I can adapt this to your pups normal exercise routine and potty needs.
