Pet care experience
My name is Courtney and I am currently an animator and developer originally from Long Island who now works from home in Ithaca, NY! Pre-pandemic I was an executive assistant where on occasion I would have to watch as many as four dogs at a time. I have also worked on various Long Island farms and have been managing an array of animals for seven-plus years. Recent clients have included pets who need a little extra care. I am experienced with medication requirements such as insulin shots, eye drops, or medicine that needs to be mixed in with food. Having to work with high-profile clients I am very detailed oriented and punctual when it comes to medication scheduling. I look forward to meeting you and your fluffy kid(s)!

Courtney did an amazing job caring for our lively and clingy rescue pitbull, our cat, and our house while my spouse and I were out of the country for a week. She sent us pictures and reassuring updates and was always responsive. It was obvious that our dog was given so much love and exercise, and we knew how much he loved his time with her because he watched the window for her return for days after we got home! We hope to book Courtney again anytime we need a pet sitter and are so grateful that we found her.

I have a lovely little indoor cat named Nugget. She is a grey tortoiseshell who loves to chat up a storm and enjoys watching when I do pilates or yoga.

At what times? * Does your dog have any major stressors? * Does the dog have a favorite place to sleep or hang out? * Favorite toy? Does it like to have music or the tv on?
A typical day
When having a new pet sitter come in it can be stressful and anxiety-inducing. With that, familiarity is your friend so sticking to their original habits and routines are important. Usually, the first thing I ask an owner is what is their favorite toys, do they have any preferred treats, etc. With sticking with routines I love to take dogs to their favorite park or walk around their neighborhood to again create that sense of familiarity and safety.

I have a fairly flexible WFH schedule. I usually don't start until mid morning so I am currently available to do daily drop-ins, walks, or overnight stays.
