Pet care experience
Hello, welcome to my Rover page! Please check out my profile, rates, pictures, and reviews, and feel free to reach out anytime. I do this job because I think dogs are one of the best things ever, and people who love their dogs are typically pretty great too! I look forward to getting to know all of you. I see dogs as individuals and adapt as well as possible to that. Some are higher energy, some low. Some are slow to warm up, others are eager, etc. I love seniors, puppies, and all the quirks in between. XL doggos and teeny babes, I love them all and treat them with the loving care they deserve. Safety first, fun second. A close second! Standard measures I take to keep animals safe: • any doors to outside remain closed to prevent any escapes. • keep all toys picked up when sitting for multiple-family dogs as to prevent guarding and disagreements (can have toys separately if possible) • always feed and treat separately. •feeding/treats is ALWAYS supervised and staggered when necessary •leashes on before opening any doors to go out. •yard time is supervised. (Dogs have access to yard all day when I’m at home) •ability to keep dogs separate if needed. •avoid new dogs and people while on walks •seatbelts worn in the car •knowledgeable regarding dangerous food consumption. •purse/bags kept out of reach. •dogs are supervised, not ignored/left alone to wander the house or yard. •zero tolerance of bullying or persistent dominance. Dogs can be separated if needed. •can give pets all the time they need to warm up. I go at their pace and comfort level. •fully secured 4 1/2 foot fence. We have lots of fun too! Play time inside and out. Snuggles and treats. Sometimes we can go take a hike or find some water to splash in. I don’t keep dogs in crates unless you ask me to or for a short term safety reason. If a dog is struggling with accidents/marking I may need to confine them to a room. I would communicate with you first. I value forthrightness and good communication between myself and the families I care for. I'll send (lots of!) pictures and videos! By raising 3 dogs of my own, all with their own quirks and challenges, I know how stressful and honestly, downright debilitating at times it can be to figure out who to leave your dog with. Then the actual act of LEAVING.....it can feel like too much. I get it, I really do. I will do whatever I can to support your feeling the least stressed during this process. Please feel free to share (or overshare :-) what might help. Most of my experience has come from my 5 years of dog sitting full time and raising my 3 dogs for 14 years. You encounter a lot that way. Two I raised from puppies and the third I raised from 2 years old. They were the loves of my life. I've cared for other dogs off and on for several years, then I started working with Rover and private clients starting five years ago. I also started fostering dogs three years ago and work closely with local rescues/shelters. When I say I do this because I love dogs, I really mean that. That I get to meet so many awesome, fun, sweet, loving, quirky, silly, serious, amazing, shy, gentle, athletic, brave dogs every week, it's just absolutely amazing. It can be hard work. But it's great work. Thanks for trusting me with your friend. (P.S.- if your dog wants to sleep in my bed, I'm all for it. My king bed has plenty of room!)
Reviews
Our pups loved staying with Courtney for a week. They came home happy and healthy. We appreciated the consistent communication (and cute pictures) she sent throughout their stay. It is clear she cared for them as if they were her own. Thank you!
Amazing job! My dog was so happy and felt so loved :)
Courtney welcomed Remy into her home and gave her plenty of love. She was easy to work with from the start and kept me more than updated on remys stay. Great experience and easy recommendation to those of you new to Rover!
I was so nerveous to leave Jack for 3 weeks, but Courtney was very emphatic and understanding. She sent me lots of updates with pictures, and Jack seemed to really like her. She also accommodated my food requests and took great care of Jack when she had him.

A typical day
This is very individual based on each dog. But generally, we get up and go potty and eat breakfast. Then some outdoor time, some snuggles on the couch, and playing with a favorite toy. Most days a short walk will happen, longer ones when needed/time allows. When it’s warm out I can set up a kiddie pool or sprinkler. Going for a ride can be fun! Naps at any time are always a good idea too! Or maybe there is something your dog particularly likes to do.....

Availability
Dog sitting is the bulk of my schedule. It’s my job! I don’t have a separate job besides dog sitting, so I will be with your pets during the bulk of the pet sit. While I do have occasional errands and appointments, I’ll always communicate with you about your dog’s needs when I’m away for a short bit. I make time to walk the dogs, snuggle(if they like that) and give them plenty of attention. Though Rover uses the word "Boarding" I am not a Boarding Facility in the traditional sense. The dogs can sleep with me if that is allowed by the owners and the dog :-) or they can sleep on a dog bed, couch or in a crate if preferred. They have free range of the house in most circumstances. NOTE: drop off/pick up fee of $30 is for up to 25 miles round trip. Drop off/pick up cost farther than 30 miles round trip can be discussed. If a client is VERY close-by (my discretion) we can discuss a lower rate.
