My family, including myself, have had dogs for as long as I can remember. Even before I was considered old enough to be responsible for the care of human children, I was caring for my family pets. My love of animals has encouraged me to become a certified dog groomer. I was a bather for about a year, finished my certification training, and have been dog grooming for another year. My fiancé and I adopted our first dog fur baby a year ago this month. Already owning a female cat and two female ferrets, he was looking forward to another male in the house. To his surprise, my little Samurai is a big ol’ mama’s boy! Sam, for short, came from a high-kill shelter in Alabama. He was only just a year old when we adopted him. He was recovering from Heartworms when we adopted him and he was very nervous around strangers. A year later and he has improved greatly. We still have our work cut out but he greatly enjoys our trips to the dog park to get some one-on-one time with new friends, both furry and human.
