Pet care experience
**Now offering all-day availability as of June 10th, including walks!** As a lifelong pet owner and 15-year veteran pet sitter, I want to utilize my expertise and enthusiasm to help out my neighbors in the Silver Spring area. My services: • Drop-Ins (dogs, cats, and other pets; 30 mins or 60 mins) • Dog Walking (30 mins or 60 mins) • Dog Hiking (request as walk to customize rate and duration) • House Sitting (dogs, cats, and other small pets accepted; 2x daily walks of minimum 30 mins included) As you can see from my photos with happy clients, I'm a great cuddler of cats and a veteran walking/hiking/running buddy! I have experience with multi-pet households, basic training, caring for senior pets, and administering oral medications.
Reviews
Great timing and great walk as always. Kaya loves Courtney
Perfect as usual. Kaya had lots of time outside and Courtney sent pictures and updates that made me feel very comfortable
Glad to have reconnected with Courtney, who is a fabulous & reliable caregiver to our cat Pepita. Thanks for the good communication and cute photos, as always :)
Courtney is fantastic. We always come home to pets that don’t seem to have missed us at all. She communicates well and lets us know anything that may or may not be happening while we’re away. She also walks our dog who loves walks but hates other dogs. The pets love her.

Safety, trust & environment
Whether I'm staying overnight or dropping in while you're gone, your pets, plants, and home will be secure. I really enjoy taking care of dogs and cats in the environment where they feel most comfortable, and will care for your space as if it were my own. You'll return to a tidy home and a happy, tired pet. If your dog is friendly and enjoys companionship, I would love to discuss bringing my own friendly pup Luna along for stays longer than 4 nights. I also have some experience with rabbits, chickens, fish, and lizards. COVID-19 Note: I am fully vaccinated and boosted as is the rest of my household. Photo note: I upload select photos to Rover for the benefit of potential clients. They do not contain identifying info, but please let me know upon booking if you'd prefer to opt out.
Information Courtney J. would like to know about your pet
Feeding and walking schedule, any health issues or meds, treat and toy preferences, vet/emergency contacts, favorite walking routes, general likes/dislikes. For running/hiking on trails, your dog must be well-socialized around other dogs, adults, and children (i.e. not leash-reactive). While I have experience and patience with anxiety or fearfulness in pets, I am not able to accept aggressive dogs. I also require that pets be up to date on their flea/tick/heartworm prevention and required vaccinations.
A typical day
I'm an active person so if you have a high-energy dog who needs extra exercise, we might be a perfect fit! I would love to take your pup on a walk, easy run, or hike in your neighborhood or at local trails/parks, with pace and distance customized to your dog's fitness level and preferences. I have a mid-sized SUV where they can ride in style and I always bring water/treats for longer hikes. I have a soft spot for couch potatoes too! For cats, I'm equally adept with a ribbon teaser toy or a comfy lap. Even shy cats tend to warm up to my patient techniques. I'll send updates regularly with photos so you can see how much fun your pet is having.

Availability
I am available for pet-sitting 7 days a week. Bookings include overnight stays and additional daytime hours spent at your home, for pets who can be alone for up to 4 hours. I will provide ample exercise, enrichment, and additional hiking adventures for those pups who enjoy it. If your pet doesn't need overnight care, I can provide up to 3 drop-ins/walks per day for the same booking cost as house sitting. Most of my drop-in clients tend to be cats, and I'm always looking to meet more kitties. A 30-minute visit includes feeding, water-filling, litter-scooping, and plenty of pets and playtime. 60 minutes is a great option if your pet is extra social and needs more sustained interaction. My dog walking options are ideal for vacations, business trips, or an evening out - and after June 10th, I will also be available for mid-day walks if you work outside the home. For hikes, rates are customized based on duration, location, and other details - please book as a walk and specify that you'd like to create a custom hiking adventure for your pup! I will bring fresh water, whatever treats you provide at home, and observe all safety regulations on trails.
