Dog Lover with Fenced-in Yard!

Pet care experience

My love for animals, especially dogs, is what inspires me everyday as a pet sitter. Growing up with pups, I know what great companions they are. I’ll always remember meeting our family dog, Boomer, who was a tiny Spaniel puppy always trying to untie my shoelaces. Dogs quickly became part of the family and I would love the opportunity to help you feel comfortable and safe when you have to leave your loved one with someone else. In addition to helping raise a Golden Retriever, English Springer Spaniel, and Cavalier King Charles Spaniel when growing up, I also have experience dog-sitting for friends and neighbors. I’ve cared for dogs with demonstrated issues of severe anxiety and was very comfortable administering oral and injected medication, as well as utilizing strategies to help keep dogs calm during moments of stress. Dogs and their owners will love my dedication to and compassion for animals. My goal when providing pet sitting services is that all the pets in my care are healthy, safe, and happy! Therefore, I will treat them as if they’re my own. Furthermore, as an educator, I’ve honed and developed my communication skills, ensuring pet owners a professional and prompt line of communication with me. My detailed updates and photo and video messages will help me to build and maintain relationships with you and your pet! When I’m not enjoying quality time with dogs, I love to watch movies (fun fact, I’ve seen “Pitch Perfect” over 40 times), eat macaroni and cheese, and dream about the day I’ll own a hobby farm. It’s my goal to have goats, pigs, lambs, and of course, lots of dogs. I also enjoy an adventure and like to stay active - hockey, kayaking, rollerblading, hiking, biking, bungee jumping - I’ll do it all! Additionally, as an English Language Arts teacher, one of my passions in life, besides dogs, is reading and writing. Spending time with friends and family, traveling to a new country, and cracking into a new book are some of my favorite things to do!

Courtney is the best! She has the perfect disposition for making your dog feel welcome and secure. My Lexi spent two weeks with her and I received daily updates along with photos. I'm so grateful to have found someone I trust completely to provide a good home away from home for my dog. I've already booked Lexi's next stay with Courtney!

Courtney is wonderful. So friendly, professional, accommodating and it's obvious how much she loves the dogs! My Lexi is leary of other dogs. Courtney was very patient with her and I'm sure her calming nature kept everything under control. I have already rebooked two upcoming stays with Courtney. So glad to have found her.

Information Courtney B. would like to know about your pet

There are a few things I like to know before a stay: - What is your dog’s schedule and routine? - What is their personality and typical behavior? - Do they require exercise and activity? If so, how much? - Does your dog like dog parks? - Will your dog require any special medication or attention? - Is there anything that makes them anxious or upset? - Most importantly, what makes them happy?

A typical day

I currently live in the very safe Audubon neighborhood in Northeast Minneapolis in a single-family, two-story home. This location is perfect for dogs as it is in close proximity to multiple grassy, wooded parks, included a fenced-in off-leash park that we can explore. My home is also near to the Mississippi River and Stone Arch Bridge, offering a beautiful, scenic view of the city and great walking paths. With a fenced-in backyard, your dog will have ample room to explore the outdoors in a safe environment. On a stay with me, we’ll be sure to stay active, exploring the amazing nature around my home. I love to give any dog that is in my care my full and undivided attention by playing games like tug-of-war or fetch, going on walks in the park, or cuddling up on the couch and watching Netflix.
