Pet care experience
Caring is what I do best! I have cared for animals since I can remember, and they have always been a huge part of my life. I have had always cats and dogs in my family home, and fully understand the worries and anxieties that come along when going away and trusting them with others. For my day job I work with SEN children as a Pastoral Officer. My role includes supporting challenging behaviour as well as providing emotional support to students with varying needs. I am also currently studying Counselling which I really enjoy and feel extremely passionate about. In recent years I have often dog sat friends and friends of friends dogs in their home whilst they have been away to give them piece of mind. I’ve cared for my own puppy from 8 weeks old, so am also very aware of the needs and challenges that come with this! I am a naturally caring, patient and empathic person and caring for others with fur (and no fur) is what I love doing best! I feel happiest when alongside animals, and care for dogs like they are my own - with lots of love, cuddles and walks.
Reviews
Courtenay is amazing! While our pup Amy was staying at Courtenay’s home, she sent us photos and short videos of Amy via group in WhatsApp. I liked her initiative to make the chat and to add there my husband and me. She also took Amy to a park on a car. Amy was really happy and had an interesting day. In the evening my husband had to collect Amy, but Courtenay suggested to drop her at our address, because it was raining. It was very kind of her. Amy was relaxed and calm. I highly recommend Courtenay and we’ll definitely ask her to look after Amy again :)
Courtenay was such a dream with our mini dachshund, Murray. Prior to his stay with her, she was up for meeting us for coffee and we exchanged all our questions. Safe to say, we felt comfortable from the moment we met her and Murray loved her. She is very caring and considerate of how we want to raise Murray and ensured she followed his routine to make him feel at home with her. She sent us so many updates whilst he was in her care and he looked like he was having an amazing time! We would 100% use Courtenay again, Murray can’t wait for another sleepover ?
When we had to go away and couldn’t find family or friends to look after our fur baby we were really worried about leaving her at a kennels. Then we were recommended Courtney. Courtney was simply amazing. She came and stayed at our house while we were away so Poppy was completely relaxed. She kept in touch with little videos and photos via WhatsApp. It was such a relief too know she was getting such good care and attention so we could relax and enjoy our holiday. We already plan to use Courtney again for our holiday at Easter. Highly recommended
Courtenay was brilliant- she is very caring and responsible. Would definitely have her look after Rocco again next time we are away! He loved her ☺️

I have a fenced garden here in Kemptown with no other animals in the house. My home is a secure, loving and caring environment, with room to snooze and play. When dog sitting I will always be here and be alongside your dog studying from home. I have a car, so in emergencies I will be able to take dogs to care if they ever needed it. Every dog who comes to my house will be treated as they were family and will receive a huge amount of love and attention.

Information Courtenay-Jo D. would like to know about your pet
Please tell me everything I need to know about your doggo! I am very conscious about getting it right and being able to accommodate all of a dogs needs during their stay. I will only accept bookings that I feel I can provide the best care for and feel this is extremely important. Please let me know if your dog has any special or behavioral needs I will need to account for and if they have a specific routine. I like to provide a familiar routine for dogs in order to provide consistency! Some good things to know are : How are they with other dogs? Where do they like to sleep? Any triggers that I need to avoid? Can they be let of the lead? What is there recall like? Are they clicker trained? Do I need to be aware of other people, bikes, children etc? Any tips/needs when taking them out in the community?
A typical day
There is plenty I will walk them at Queen’s Park around the corner from me, which is a fenced park. I will also drive up to Devil’s Dyke (if owners are happy) and go on walks there as that’s my personal favourite spot! I am happy to accommodate whatever your dog needs, and am happy to listen to what you need and endeavour to make their stay as relaxing and fun as I can.
