I am a stay-at-home mom of 4 young children 5-10. We have two 3 year old dogs who love to play with other dogs and our children love playing with other dogs as well. If your dog is not good with children or other dogs this is not a good fit. However, if your dog is playful and energetic and likes to play with others this would be a great match! We have 5 acres to run around in at our place. Our dogs spend as much time outside as they desire and come to the door when they are ready to come in. We do not have a fence so one of our dogs are fence less all of the time, while the other is on an electric fence. We have multiple chains for dogs who need to be hooked up if they are a runner, as well as we have a second electric collar for larger dogs who are used to this method. (We would not feel comfortable with a new dog trying it for the first time at our home.) We do have goats and chicken to be aware of. If your dog likes to kill chicken this is not a good fit. The goats and chicken keep to themselves and will not bother any other animals.
