Pet care experience
I have several years of experience caring for and walking dogs. From an early age, I learned how to train and care for dogs from my aunt, who is a reputable dog breeder. The dogs she trained and cared for have been champions in obedience, therapy, and confirmation. I truly learned from the best. I then moved to New York City to complete my education. For two years, I walked and trained dogs through the bustling streets of New York. I also worked at a doggy day care where I would supervise dog social groups of up to 15 dogs at a time. I also administered medications and oversaw feeding for up to 125 dogs a day. And, I even trained the humans about how to walk dogs, supervise the dog social groups, and recognize dog's subtle social cues. Although I loved caring for large groups of dogs, my specialty is with providing one on one attention to dogs. - Cortney Martin

Cortney is a great dog walker - takes the time and effort to understand my dog's needs and personality. Definitely recommend!!

Information Cortney M. would like to know about your pet
If your pup has any fears or is shy, it is good to know before I walk in the door so that I can adjust my approach accordingly. Usually shy dogs prefer a slow entrance without eye contact and a submissive posture to reduce their stress and discomfort. Putting pets at ease as soon as possible allows for a faster bond and allows for an optimal transition when I come to provide care. I don't have any breed preference and have worked with all types and personalities.
A typical day
Since I come to my clients place for overnight care, I will seek out favorite paths, parks and area to walk or jog and I am always up for play and snuggle time. Each pet has specific needs for care, so I always do my best to learn their likes/dislikes and adjust my interaction accordingly. My goal is to make your pets as comfortable as possible while you are away and keep their routine as consistent as possible too. Happy, healthy pets are what puts a big smile on my face, as well as their own!
