Pet care experience
Hi, I'm a 23 year old dog walker/ pet sitter from Sheffield. I've got a lot of experience with both dogs and cats through Rover as well as BorrowMyDoggy. I have experience with large dog breeds such as German Shepherds, labradors and greyhounds, medium breeds including spaniels and whippets as well as small breeds like Chihuahuas and Dachshunds. I have cared for old and young dogs as well as dogs who require medication. I am happy to accommodate any extra needs your dog may have! Through my business I have to come to know lots of nice routes round York, mostly around Millenium bridge, the Knavesmire, Fulford and Bootham. While I have grown up around dogs and other animals, I’ve been dog walking/sitting as a profession for a year and a half now and am familiar with most of the care associated with dogs and other pets. At the moment I am living in a flat which doesn’t allow pets but dog sitting in your home is something that I can accommodate. I always make sure to ask owners beforehand what their dog/dogs need. I will always update owners on how their dog is and send plenty of pictures. I will make sure to follow the dog’s usual routine as closely as possible to make sure that the they are happy and stress free. I aim to create a calm environment for the dog so that they don’t need to worry about their owner being away and can have a great time with me looking after them!

If your dog has any special requirements such as being on medication and whether or not they are comfortable being around other dogs, people or being off lead are all useful things to know. The length of walks, feeding schedule and usual daily routine of your dog are also good to know beforehand.
A typical day
A typical day of dog care would usually be whatever the dogs owners have told me that their dog needs. If the dog is high energy then long walks and playing games or if it is an older dog then sometimes keeping them company and entertained is just what they need.

I am dog walking and looking after animals as a full time job so can usually be flexible with my schedule. I am usually available at short notice but try to keep my calendar updated regularly with my availability.
