Pet care experience
Hello! My name is Corey and I am currently attending the WSU Veterinary School. Prior to vet school I have worked as a veterinary technician for two years in Washington DC and before that I was a wolf keeper in northern Minnesota. I gained a variety of experience from my jobs before attending vet school and am continuing to learn best practices for caring for and treating our wonderful companion animals. I have two dogs of my own and have been a dog owner for most of my adult life and grew up around dogs. Even though I am a full time vet student I make plenty of time for my pups and would love to spend time with your pup in your home or mine! As for specific skills I have much experience administering medications (oral, SQ, IM, ear medications, etc), trimming nails, expressing anal glands, and brushing teeth. If you have an elderly dog, I can carry them places if need be. If there are any additional services you can think of just ask!

I have known Corey since he was 2 years old and I can honestly say that I have never met another person who has had more love for pets throughout his life. This love has resulted in his recent job experience as a Vet Tech and his desire to become a Veterinarian for which he is currently studying. Corey has cared for my pets, short and long term, over the years and it has always been such a relief to have someone there that I knew would care for our pets as if they were his own. I highly recommend Corey as someone who is responsible and caring and would make the perfect pet sitter or walker!
Corey has cared for our dogs for years. I would not trust anyone else with my pets. It's not only that he has a very caring and responsible nature, but the fact that he is a licensed veterinary technician brings me peace of mind that my pets will be safe and well cared for.

If your pup has anything that especially scares them it would be great to know. For example: scared of cars, larger dogs, water, loud noises, etc. I typically take my pups to all sorts of places if desired. If they are aggressive with other dogs. I have no breed restrictions I used to work with wolves so dog breeds are no worries for me. If your pup does stay with me, I would need them to be up to date on their vaccinations.
A typical day
I am an ultra marathon runner and very outdoorsy in general. If desired we would go to the places I frequent with my pups. The dog parks, trails in the canyon, and swimming are activities we do 3-4 times a week. If your dog wouldn't enjoy these activities easy walks along the Logan river trail are always fun. Of course you know your pup better than me and would always be open to suggestions!
