My family and I fostered and then adopted a dog 4 years ago. She had pretty bad separation anxiety in the beginning so we had to learn as new dog owners how to care for an anxious dog. This was pretty difficult and it took teamwork: my parents would go to work during the day, and I would come home between college classes to feed her, take her on walks, and just keep her company. We eventually fell in love with her and decided to adopt her for ourselves. She’s now well adjusted in her environment and we can’t imagine our family life without her! We take her on almost daily walks at home, play with her, and give her lots of treats since she’s a food lover. We love to keep her happy! :)
