Caring for All Pets since 2002

Pet care experience

Hello! I am an aspiring costume designer/business owner and oddities researcher. My first paid job was walking the neighbor’s dog once a week. Since then I've gone on to caring for dogs, cats, fish, horses, chickens, sheep, and lizards. In addition to taking care of animals for over 15 years, I have also raised one guinea pigs, two parakeets, a tank of fish, and a rescue dog. I also spent 6 months working at The Dog House, a local doggie day care. Here a general list of my qualifications: - Giving medication via mouth or shots - Expert at cleaning up sloppy messes - Playing and cuddling - Leaving detailed notes Please let me know if you have any questions or concern. I can't wait to meet your fur babies!

Connie went out of her way to work with the neighbor I'd lined up to help my elder dog with bad separation anxiety so that she wouldn't be left alone to bark. Such a great pet-sitter! Looking forward to having her back.

Safety, trust & environment

After I greet your dog, I like to spend some time getting to know them. If they want snuggles and pets, I indulge. If they need someone to throw the ball or play tug of war, I get down on the floor with them. For cats, I like to give them space to approach me. They don't have to engage, but if I they I am happy to provide some scratches.

Information Connie P. would like to know about your pet

How are they leash trained and if so, are they good on walks or do they need reminders? What makes them crazy (ie. squirrels, bunny rabbits)? Does anything scare them (ie. trucks, bicycles)?

A typical day

A typical day starts with a bathroom break and breakfast. Then I see what mood they are in. If they are hyper we can go to the local park or dog park for some play time. If they seem to have lower energy, then we can relax and maybe get a few pets in. Afternoon has another potty break and usually a walk and/or play time. Evenings means we get dinner, another outside break, and settle down with some snuggles.

Availability

Pet care is a great way for me to remember to get out of the house, away from the computer screen and get in some sunlight! I have a very flexible schedule so taking a break to play with your puppy is a welcome distraction.
