Boarding & daycare for small dogs!
Pet care experience
Hello! I am offering boarding and daycare services for dogs up to 25 lbs in my townhome in the west end of Portsmouth. I rescued a terrier/chihuahua puppy named Frankie last year and she absolutely LOVES playing with other dogs. It’s not a good time for me to adopt another pet, but I think she would love to have some furry friends to play with so I’m opening my boarding services up again 🐶☺️. Frankie is 7.5 lbs but plays well with larger dogs as long as they are not too aggressive with her. Because of Frankie’s small size, I can only accept dogs that are 25 lbs or less. They must be up to date on their vaccines and get along well with a feisty, energetic puppy! I work from home full time, so for the most part I will be in the home with any pets that are here. If I have to go out, I will separate the dogs - Frankie stays in a pen when I am out and I also have two medium sized crates that can be used. My house is thoroughly puppy proofed! I do not have a private yard, but make regular use of the fenced in dog park in my neighborhood, and take frequent walks with my pooch. For emergency potty breaks I have an XL grass pad on my porch. I have over a decade of experience caring for dogs - starting with my first dog, Felicity 🌈, who I adopted when I was 22. I’ve offered dog sitting services through Rover previously, and also previously fostered dogs through City Dogs Rescue in Washington, DC. If you’re interested in boarding your dog with me or dropping them off for daycare, please reach out with some details about your pup so we can determine if it will be a good fit!
Reviews
Colleen was absolutely awesome! Our older Golden, Toby had the best weekend with her exploring Portsmouth and she even took him for a big off leash run. She was great about being in touch with pictures and having her pick up and drop him off was super, duper helpful. We'll definitely be booking with her again!
Colleen was wonderful with our 2 year old puppy. We will absolutely continue to use her!
Great stay. Colleen was excellent with my pup: warm, understanding, and friendly. One of the best sitters I’ve had 10/10!
This was my very first time using Rover but Colleen did a great job sending communication and connected with Jack! Will absolutely use Rover and Colleen in the future ❤️

I take my puppy on leashed walks and have walked her at the same time with other dogs when I’ve cared for friend’s dogs. I make daily use of the fenced in dog park that is a 1 minute walk from my townhouse. My house is currently very well “puppy proofed”.

Information Colleen W. would like to know about your pet
- Does your dog get along well with other dogs, and do you think they’ll get along well with my, small but highly energetic puppy? - Are there any behavioral issues I should be aware of? I.e. separation anxiety, leash reactivity, etc. If there is separation anxiety, will your dog bark if left alone at my home? Does you dog need to be crated when left alone at my home? - Are there any special routines, toys, activities, etc. that I should use to help your dog feel more comfortable with me?
A typical day
Regular potty breaks, daily walks and visits to the dog park, playing with me and with my puppy - we have lots of toys and love to play fetch!
