Responsible, caring dog lover

Pet care experience

I have owned 3 dogs in my life. One was a chocolate lab and the other was a pit mix. My chocolate lab Chocko was my first best friend. My pittie Jessica gave me 16 wonderful years of cuddles, play time and love. I would help my mom take care of our friends dogs while they were away on vacations. We would feed them, let them outside to run around for a while, and we would play with them. There was a little league field across from our house so sometimes we would take the dogs to the field and throw tennis balls or Frisbees around for them. I volunteered at an animal shelter where I primarily attended to the dogs in terms of feeding, playing with them and walking them for 4 years while in high school. I lived with a roommate who had a sheltie and would help take care of her during the day in terms of walks, hikes, and play time at the dog park. We were also fostering a puppy from a local humane society who couldn't lay on hard surfaces due to issues on her joints. We were able to introduce Penny the puppy to the dog park with dogs three times bigger than she was, as well as introduce her to the stream that ran through the park. We were also training Penny to respond to off leash training. When I moved to the Vail Valley, my landlord had two dogs. One was a six month old puppy named Otis, who was full of energy and loved to play. Otis was a huge cuddler. There was also a 15 year old weimaraner named Jackson who needed extra loving. While my landlord was out at work or gone for a weekend, I would help let the two dogs out, feed them and give them plenty of belly rubs. Jackson started having trouble moving around so I would lend a hand and help him go to the bathroom every couple of hours, as well as clean up any accidents he may have had while trying to get up. I have helped multiple people care for their dogs while in Colorado. It was one of the best situations for me as I was not able to have a dog at the time due to where I was living. Getting to help others allowed me the freedom to have dogs in my life and lift my spirits. Currently I have a 4 year old pit bull named Lilo. Lilo is super sweet and loves to play! When she’s not playing, she wants to be curled under a blanket with me. I currently work 7:30-4pm Monday through Friday. I work remotely so I can easily work while taking care of other dogs. Weekends are mostly open to help. No matter what service, I suggest a meet and greet first to ensure I am the right fit for your pet, as well as they are the right fit for me. I make sure to always give them food/water and space. I follow their guide and make sure to separate dogs when they get over whelmed. My house has a fully fenced in yard that I check on my dog constantly. If your dog can jump over fences, I am not able to watch them at my home as my fence is 4ft. When with another dog, I make sure to monitor them at all times.

The dogs clearly loved Colleen from the first. They were happy and relaxed when we got home. Colleen was prompt in replying to our request for dog sitting, and she is professional in the way she goes about the work. We also loved the pictures she sent! We will certainly contact her again for dog sitting.
