Pet care experience
I began learning how to take care of all sorts of pets at a young age. Many of my friends called my childhood home the zoo because it was home to dogs, cats, ferrets, lizards, lots of fish, a hamster, and guinea pigs. My mom and dad wanted to teach my siblings and I the importance of proper animal care and how to have a healthy pet who would live a long happy life in our house. As I grew older I bonded with all kinds of animals and began walking friends, family, and neighbor’s dogs. As I grew older I began accepting house sitting/ pet sitting opportunities and have landed quite a few dog, cat, bunny, bird and even goat sitting gigs! It started off with clients who were just my friends but then pretty soon by word of mouth I was able to have a steady client base. I moved to Colorado in August of 2021 and began using rover to get out of my apartment and get to care for and hang out with animals. I am now back home in Rhode Island and would love to continue to help people care for their animals since I had a great time doing it in Colorado and was able to meet some great pets and people!

I am a great listener and am used to people taking care of their pets in all sorts of ways. I’ve helped people who have fenced in yards or one who don’t so require extra long walks. I’ve watched dogs that are crate trained dogs, and ones that are not. I’ve watched high energy dogs, low energy dogs, along with dogs who are skeptical of me at first im almost always successful at creating a trusting bond with these dogs. My apartment complex has multiple parks near by and a dog park for dogs that would be staying with me and I love exploring Denver so would love to find places close to you and your animal’s home to take them on walks when sitting or walking them. *When I need a sitter for my cat*: She is very low key I let her look out windows and always have toys out for her to play with but she doesn’t have a very long attention span. I sometimes bring her outside on a harness because I’m hoping to get her trained to go on hikes with me eventually she’s very sweet and friendly she eats twice a day about 12 hours apart and I allow her some treats of course throughout the day :)
Information Colleen K. would like to know about your pet
For dogs that need boarding keep in mind I do have a cat so need to know if they get along with cats. For sitting and dog walking I would like to know if your dog can be off leash and how well they are on a leash. I also would like to know if there are certain commands you use with them so I can use the same ones. Along with if they are reactive to other dogs or people so I can avoid any issues that could occur during our walk.
A typical day
I love getting outside and no matter the weather! I also love playing with toys with pets and keeping them entertained even if we aren’t on a walk.

Availability
I’m currently working from home and have a super flexible schedule. I am available Monday-Fridays between certain hours depending on work meetings that week and I am around most weekends, but sometimes like to go hiking or snowboarding in New Hampshire, so might not be available on certain Saturdays or Sundays.
