Denver petcare

Pet care experience

I have had a love of animals my whole life! In addition to be a long-time dog owner, I have been a professional sitter and walker for over twenty years. I just really enjoy the companionship that dogs provide, and getting to spend time with pups is just a dream come true! I love to take long walks with dogs in our beautiful city and getting to know lots of the great, dog-friendly spots around Denver. Although I’ll be the primary caregiver, I have three older sons and a boyfriend who occasionally stays with me. He has a great Dalmatian named Rawlee! We’re all dog lovers, so our house is very accommodating to new pups coming in. I’ll be handling most of the responsibilities, but my sons always like to dish out some extra pets and cuddles when we have a new furry friend over. I work from home, so your pup will receive my undivided attention during a stay. I’ll be available the whole day, so your pooch will always have someone around them. My availability and adaptability is what makes me a good fit for owners and pups that have difficult schedules or complex needs. I am flexible and able to accommodate most dogs under most situations. I am comfortable with many different breeds and all kinds of training methods. I’m also always happy to communicate with both you and your pet at all times so both of you know just what’s going on throughout the day. I am skilled at walking all breeds and have no breed preferences! I prefer a gentle leader as a training method to a harness or other types but can use all types of leads. I can modify to fit the style that you use on your dog. I carry treats, potty bags, and click train by mouth command. I also will try to get the dog to sit at corners when we wait to cross the street. Most dogs are happy to walk on a leash if you are diligent and patient! I currently live in Park Hill. I’m very close to Stapleton, City Park, and tons open spaces like my favorite dog parks. I have a fenced-in backyard as well, which is perfect for getting walks in or going for a roll in the grass. I’ve lived in Denver for quite some time now, so I’ve discovered a lot of secret places for dogs and humans alike!

Colleen was a great sitter for my mini boxer, Arnie. He came home happy and exhausted after a great day of playing with some new friends.

Colleen and her family were amazing!!! They welcomed Gherkin right in, and she was comfortable. My fur baby greeted me with a huge smile on her face when I picked up her. I'll definitely be using Colleen again.

Information Colleen B. would like to know about your pet

Some things I like to learn ahead of time: Would you like to schedule a meet-and-greet before the stay? What’s your preferred method of communication? Does your pup have any health issues that need to be tended to? For instance, dietary restrictions, medicine, or behavior triggers? Do you have a vet nearby that you trust? Does your pup like to stick to a given schedule, like regular walks in the morning and evening? What does your pup do well around? What does your pup try to avoid? What’s the best way to spoil your pup?

A typical day

I believe that the key to any good stay is staying happy and healthy through plenty of exercise, so we’ll make sure that we get out and explore as often as possible! There are plenty of great spots near me, so we’ll make sure to hit those up as often as possible. Some of my favorite places to visit are City Park, Stapleton, and the dog parks that are in that area. It’s always good to get some off-leash time in at those places as well, so we’ll make sure to roam free whenever we can. I am always happy to go on several walks a day, and we can practice training methods together as well.
