Pet care experience
I have had and cared for dogs since I was 12. After losing my 14 yr old lab/pit mix, 13 & 14 yr old dachshunds over the last few years, I've wanted to extend my knowledge and assistance to those that want their pets to be treated as family. I want owners and families to trust and feel comfortable knowing their animals are in caring and loving hands while they are away! I also have no dogs or young children in my household and no allerigies to pet hair or dander.

We hired Colleen to pet sit for our two dogs (pitbull and boxer) as well as our cat, while we went out of town for a few days. Colleen was so good with our baby’s! She was so comfortable around them and they were equally as comfortable with her! Colleen is very professional! Our boxer is still just a puppy so he definitely still has some things to learn! Colleen worked with him to help teach him some “manners” and helped get him into a routine. Our animals loved having Colleen with them at the house and she made it so easy not to worry about them while we were away! Colleen is the best pet sitter we have had and we will definitely be using her anytime we go out of town!
April had a blast with Colleen and can’t wait to visit again! We can’t wait to let her have a break from Her (human) sister messing with her again.

I currently live in a condo community, with a fenced in dog park with a very large area for them to run and play. The community has a great amount of grass, trees and sidwalks for dogs to enjoy while on a walk around the neighborhood. My belief is that keeping the pet in familiar surroundings in their own home can ease anxiety while their family is away. However, I am more than happy to care for your pet in my home if that is what you need! The dogs that I have had the pleasure of caring for in my home have acclimated well and became comfortable rather quick!

A typical day
I enjoy taking dogs to explore the dog park, walking trails, & even kayaking in the summer if they like the water! If your dog enjoys having the ball thrown or tug of war, I'm game! Tell me their likes and dislikes and I'll always adjust accordingly!

Availability
I am a full-time high school teacher that is available for sitting in my place, however your pet must be ok with being alone throughout the work day. I am gone from 9am-5pm M-F with the exceptions of federal holidays and other school breaks. I will sit from your home if you prefer, but i only do so on the weekends. Also, due to my work schedule my availability for drop-ins and walks will be limited to evenings and weekends. If your pet is able to be in the home while their people are at work, then I am a perfect fit for you!
