Pet care experience
I’ve always been an animal lover! I currently have 2 cats of my own (I’d love to have a pup but my apartment won’t allow it). I also work for a Raptor Rescue in Iowa City as a licensed rehabilitator of birds of prey. I have a strong attention to detail and am very reliable. I have been around animals my entire life and have always been attentive to all my pets’ health, happiness, and overall quality of life. I understand that our furry friends are like family, and I intend to treat them as such! Dogs, cats, fish, reptiles, birds; I have at least some experience with most animals kept as pets. Whether it be walks, belly rubs, feeding, potty breaks, medication, or anything in between, I’m more than happy to help your four legged friends in any way I can!

Colin was above and beyond in every aspect. He responded to a very late request when my original house sitter cancelled at the last minute due to illness. He kept me updated with pictures and text messages. He responded to a mild emergency when my little one scratched herself into a bleeding mess. He kept everyone happy, and even requested permission to feed my cat some super special food he brought over since she wasn't eating her regular food. And when my plane schedule was changed due to weather, and he already had other committments, he came by twice to check on my fur babies until I was able to get home. Colin will take care of your "children" with excellence. I'm feeling very blessed by his exquisite care of my girls. I will certainly call on him again.
Lucked out and found Colin short notice and he did amazing with my two large dogs. Especially well with my high maintenance shepherd mix. Colin stayed at our house and took care of it better than we do 12/10 would recommend will use again.
Colin house sat our two pets, cleaned after them and himself during the stay , kept me updated while I was away . Will hire again.

I always leave a clients home in better shape than I found it. I know how stressful it can be to come home to a messy house; so I always make sure to clean up after myself, take the trash out, do the dishes, and wipe down the counters.
Information Colin S. would like to know about your pet
The only thing I’d want to know before sitting a dog would be it’s nature (skiddish, playful, timid, etc.). I don’t think I’ve ever met a dog I didn’t get along with!
A typical day
I’m perfectly fine just staying in and providing companionship for any animal I’m watching. Other activities could include (but are not limited to): Walks Hikes Car Rides Cuddles Play Time Really just whatever will make your pup comfortable and happy!

Availability
I work full time at Nahant Marsh Education Center, and volunteer 1 day per week at a raptor rehabilitation center. Both of these commitments are very flexible (I am able to work from home up to 50% of the time), and do not interfere with my ability to properly care for your furry friends!
