I've had dogs for about 25 years (I'm 27). The first dog that my family owned was a collie named Lady and we had her until 2002. Around the same time we got a black lab mix named Domino. He picked me out when he was a puppy. We had Domino until Spring 2014 when he unfortunately passed away. Since then our neighbor's dog has made a habit of coming into our yard and since we are close with her family we like to affectionately say that we "co-own" her. Dogs and animals in general and magnetically attracted to me. They just like me. I think it's my calm energy, patience and compassion. They can sense that. Every dog that I encounter warms up to me very quickly. I have a friend who has a small black dog that always jumps up on my lap whenever I come over. My friend says that her dog is normally shy and only does that with people he trusts. Considering I became friends with her less then a year ago, he came to trust me pretty quickly. I have dog sat a few times, namely for my Aunt and her family when they were out of town and they keep asking me to do it. Regardless of the fact that they are family I know that my Aunt is a pretty straightforward and honest person and if she didn't think I was doing a good job, she would tell me. I really love their dog named Skye who is a black lab mix similar to my old dog Domino. Skye has a lot of personality.
