The back yard is large and fenced. There’s usually a desert tortoise running around but he’s in hibernation now. We have a mini golden doodle named Kylo who is about 40 pounds and very well trained. We’ve owned multiple boxers and a very large Airedale terrier (if your dog is an Airedale it will be a celebrity at this house). The dogs spend the day time outside, coming inside every few hours to hang out when people are home for lunch, unless it’s cold then they’ll be mostly inside. Kylo is the smallest dog we've owned and most of experience comes with 60 lb + dogs although our Airedale was around 100 lbs. Dogs are loved here and given lots of attention. When it’s warm we have a small plastic pool we fill with water for them to hang out in(Kylo loves swimming).
