We have a fenced yard with a doggy door so If your pooch is short/little he can use it. I will come to you and follow your instructions on the best way to care for your pooch. I will pay them lots of attention and play with them!

Information Clive L. would like to know about your pet

Let me know any special needs your dog has or any idiosyncrasies he/she might have. My dog, for example HATED skateboarders and cats. It’s best to know even the smallest details. You never know what you can run into!

A typical day

Depending on your dog’s needs, we could go to Ft Funston (if he/she is okay to go off leash) or go on a leashed walk to one of SF’s beautiful parks. I personally like Buena Vista park for its shady trails or Ocean Beach if your dog likes the beach or Glen Park Canyon for the adventurous pooch.

Pet care experience

Hello, I am a recent retiree. I worked for the government for 25+ years. I have owned two dogs in my lifetime. Simon who lived for 16 years and Judd who lived for 12 1/2 years and sadly passed away this past March. Throughout my life, animals have always played a special role. After Simon died, I wrote a book about losing him as it impacted me so much. I swore that if/when I was to have a second dog I would never take them for granted. Judd was an Animal Assisted Therapy dog for 8 years. Ive also volunteered for PAWS and am a lifetime donator to Best Friends Animal Society. I was also the volunteer coordinator for Strut Your Mutt in 2013 and 2014. It was a charity event sponsored by Best Friends. In 2018, I volunteered at Glen Afric Wild Cat reserve in South Africa. I could go on and on about how much I love animals especially dogs but you get the idea. Now that I am free, I want to do something with my time that is valuable to me. I’ve used Rover to find sitters for our dog and thought I’d give it a try to care for other dogs.

Clive is the best! He takes care of our dog like his own, we know our dog is well loved, lots of walks, play time, and cuddles. It’s truly the best gift of peace of mind to leave your dog with someone you know you can trust, and for us that is Clive!

We’ve used Clive multiple times and our dogs love him. They are very well taken care of, get their daily walks in and it’s always nice to know they are in good hands ❤️

Clive was absolutely wonderful with our dog Mya! He truly provided the best care for her when we were away and made sure to send us plenty of updates so we could enjoy our trip to the fullest. We appreciated all the photos of her looking so happy on the walks he took her on and enjoying the backyard so we could rest assured she was well taken care of and happy as can be! :) Clive was sure to keep up with our senior dogs routine at home so she felt super comfortable while we were away. We would absolutely book Clive again, he was fantastic!

Hegel was well taken care by Clive while I was away. Clive was communicative during his stay at our home by sending me text updates and photos. I appreciate Clive's proactive approach by arranging a meet-and-greet session and also a separate walk with Hegel to make sure there's a match. Indeed, I think Hegel is now in love and super-bonded to Clive. Thank you Clive!
