Caring for Cat & Canine Companions

Pet care experience

I was raised with dogs, big and small. I've only recently gotten my first cat and I've quickly come to understand cat people. I have experience with both older and arthritic dogs as well as dogs going through health issues. I've always gotten along well with big dogs because I love to get down and play with them on their level. Smaller dogs are of course not an issue. Most of my dogs have been little lapdogs that are happy to sleep 22 hours a day either on your lap or next to you on the couch. My biggest motivator to be on Rover is to hang out with dogs. I'm currently not in a position to have a dog, so these walks and check-ins let me scratch dog itch!

Cliff is wonderful! He is very professional and thorough, asking good questions during our preliminary meeting. He took terrific care of our dogs and home while we were away. I highly recommend him.

Cliff is a wonderful dog and house sitter. He is prompt and attentive to communication, sent pix of our little guy and was great to work with. We highly recommend him!

We had Cliff care for our 5 yr old black lab for a week. This included long walks, feeding, and frisbee time! In the past, our sweet girl has suffered from stress induced hair loss and causing herself to be sick from it all. We'd begun adapting our trips to take her with us, always concerned that she'd be in a worse state each time we'd come home. Not this time! I don't know what magic Cliff performed, but Maggie was in excellent spirits when we got home. Happy, well, and with all of her hair! Success! It was such a relief see she'd been so well look after and actually felt comfortable with her new friend. Cliff has taken a lot of stress of our (and Maggie's) minds just by being incredible caregiver! We couldn't ask for more, but if you're interested -the house was clean -he brought the mail in -Maggie was walked and played with at minimum 4 times a day We look forward to having him look after her again soon and highly recommend him to everyone!

Cliff stayed in our apartment and took care of our senior Chihuahua mix and tabby cat over Memorial Day weekend. I am very pleased with the experience. Cliff is personable and was communicative leading up to the stay and while we were away. I believe my dog was comfortable, because he started eating on Sunday. Previous pet-sitters have been concerned, because he eats very little while we're away.

Information Cliff N. would like to know about your pet

Important things I'd like to know ahead of time are: energy level, play preferences, required length of walk, any triggers that may cause your dog to bite, and any special circumstances for your specific dog.

A typical day

I find dogs will find a way to let out their energy if you don't give them an outlet so long walks are a great baseline activity. Fetch is also always a classic if you have a fetching dog. My favorite is with lower energy dogs, just finding a nice patch of grass in the sun and lounging!
