Our pets are our family

Pet care experience

I have had dogs since I was old enough to properly take care of them, so around the age of 10. I grew up in Colorado but my family and I moved to Arkansas when I was 16. When I was 24 my wife and I started fostering dogs for Paws and Claws rescue in Hot Springs, AR. The small town that we lived in contributes greatly to overpopulation of stray, neglected, abused and abandoned dogs in Arkansas. It wasn’t part of the plan but at one point we had 50 foster dogs at one time, all of those have been long since adopted to thoroughly vetted homes in New England. In the four and a half years that we rescued dogs and the occasional cat as well, over 400 animals came to our home as unwanted animals and they’re now all in happy homes with their adopters. I am a confident and knowledgeable person when it comes to caring for puppies and kittens, senior dogs and cats and everything in between.

I adopted a dog in June 2018 from Arkansas. Her name is Mattie. I love her dearly and I'm sure she feels the same. She and I have developed quite a companionship together. Cliff had served as her foster dad for three months before she came to me. She was a bit of a hardship case. She had been an owner surrender at age 4 with a somewhat sketchy story why she was being relinquished. Her social skills were almost zero, and her medical history indicated she had never been to a veterinarian. He brought her to the vet, got her all vaccines and had her spayed and microchipped. He began to teach her to trust her humans with the loving care he provided. When we talked on the phone about the possibility of my adopting her, he was very careful and concerned about the environment she would be living in. Mattie would need a quiet household in a quiet neighborhood, with no other pets and minimal human daily traffic. He was delighted that his fears of not finding the right home for Mattie were diminished when I perfectly fit the bill. I trust Cliff 100%.

I have known Cliff for several years now and have seen him work tirelessly to care for and improve the lives of dogs. His compassion and genuine love for animals is evident in the time and effort he devotes to the dogs and dog owners in our community. I can't imagine anyone more qualified to care for our beloved fur babies!

Cliff is reliable, trustworthy, and kind. There are very few people I trust with my dogs. Cliff is one of them. He is the person I most trust with my animals. I have had the opportunity to get to know Cliff over the past year and we have worked together to rescue a group of puppies and their mom. I am blessed to know him and have learned a lot from him. I highly recommend him. You will be glad you chose him.

I have gotten to know Cliff through work we have done through a Rescue we are both involved with. He has fostered many dogs of all sizes, ages, breeds, & temperaments. He has a wealth of experience caring for dogs and has a huge heart to see that all dogs are cared for properly and in the case of rescue get loving homes. I would have him walk and care for my dogs in a heartbeat! Your pup would be in good hands!

Information Cliff B. would like to know about your pet

During my time in rescue I fostered many dogs that needed special care. Daily medication or medicated baths, even behavioral issues that required some dogs to be set up in their own private areas. If your dog has any special needs or just things they like or don’t like, just let me know and I will do my best to provide the care that they need.

A typical day

I really enjoy taking my own dog to Shelby Farms Dog Park. If your dogs are up to that I would love to take them too. If not, that’s ok because we will find something else to do. Play with toys, sit on the couch together...I will do anything and everything I have to do to keep your dogs happy while they’re in my care.

Availability

I am currently self employed. I haul RVs and other types of trailers for a living. It is fairly flexible and I’m only obligated to haul 1 load per month but I often haul 3 or 4 which keeps me on the road two weeks out of the month. If I could make a suitable amount of money taking care of pets, I would more than likely cut back to my required one load per month.
