Animal Lover NOT Animal Eater

Pet care experience

I was raised with all different kinds of animals for pets, even a raccoon. But dogs are my best friend.I have 8+ years of experience building friendships with adopted and rehabilitated dogs.My pet is the first thing and the last thing I care about each day.I can train a dog to fetch, sit, stay, give paw, heel, jog, play hide-n-seek, and play dead.I will not feed your dog anything you wouldn't give him yourself, and I will respect any wishes you have. I live a vegetarian lifestyle so rest easy with the quality of treats I will reward your best friend with. Their happiness and health are as important to me as it is to you. I look forward to building new and lasting friendships. I appreciate feedback and criticism equally.

Clarissa was so great with Stanley, our Doberman. It was his first “sleepover” since we moved to the area. Stanley came back tired, exercised and happy. We got lots of pictures and updates during his stay and Clarissa kept him occupied with the right mix of outdoor activity and snuggle time. We will definitely look to Clarissa in the future!

Clarissa is the best dog sitter we’ve ever had and we reach out to her first if we need someone to take care of Pinot. Highly recommend!!!

My dachshund - Mildred really enjoyed her stay with Clarissa. She was taken on multiple walks per day and even taken on a trip to the pet store for treats. I received multiple photos and videos per day, so I felt at ease knowing Mildred was in good hands. I will definitely reach out to Clarissa in the future to watch Mildred.

Tuff Lil Cowboy Loved Clarissa from the first moment he saw her and he had great times romping with her during his stay. She did many enriching activities engaging him and he even got doggie massages. We highly recommend Clarissa. Cowboy can't wait to go back and we look forward to future visits. BTW, the pictures she took and sent to us look like postcard quality keepsakes. She made it Fun all around.

My place has two floors with carpeted stairs and a fenced patio perfect for sunbathing. I make my place a "home away from home" for your pup with dog beds both upstairs and downstairs, but you are welcome to bring personal items that you feel will most comfort your fur baby. (crate, binkie, favorite toy, etc)

Information Clarissa Z. would like to know about your pet

Does your pet have any anxieties and/or fears? How do you reward, vocally and physically, your pet's actions? Are there any forbidden activities for playtime? Does your doggie do unique and unexplainable things...like spin around in circles while going #2 or will only drink from glass bowls, not plastic?

A typical day

For the light walks, perhaps for the older canines, I tend to stick to the neighborhoods/parks; this includes plenty of sniff and mark time, and/or light jogging at a pace that I allow your pet to decide is always enjoyable. Cuddling is essential! For a more active dog, I would be more than happy to jog alongside your pet for the entire walk time, either around your neighborhood or on the trails at my favorite local spots. (Discussions on traveling with your pet to outdoor adventures would be held BEFORE the field trip.) As an active person myself, I can not stress enough how important it is to me to exercise your pet and encourage a playful lifestyle. I am open to it all: trail hikes, frisbee play, indoor hide-n-go seek, dog park visits, tug-a-war, and fetch. Off-leash play is an option if and ONLY if the pet owner approves, allows, or prefers.
