Pet care experience
Full-time I’m a high school Spanish teacher, so after August 9th, I’m only available for overnight visits/minimal check ins. I do teach in the City so the dog or cat would be alone between 7 and 3:30. I can’t have any in my own apartment, so I’d love to have that interface until I can have my own dog(s) in the future. Maybe even a cat I live in Lincoln Park area, and I work in the south side. I was a dog owner for many years and I have many close friends and family that I pet sit for in my free time. I am very responsible and I love all animals. I’m willing to help whomever. Please let me know what other information you need from me.

Clare was great! She came over a few days before our booking to get comfortable with our apartment and cats. Clare was fantastic at check-ins too. Gave lots of updates, pictures, etc.. We will definitely use Clare again!
Clare was a great sitter for our 2 pups and 3 cats. She provided constant communication and photos of our animals while we were away. She helped us with one of our dogs medicine which was last minute. She went above and beyond with looking after our place as well. Even our more scared cats opened up to her quickly and came out of their shells for pets and lap time. It's not easy looking after our zoo single handedly every day, and she did it wonderfully. We will definitely be asking Clare to sit for us in the future.
Clare took great care of our home and dogs while we were out of town for a weekend. She kept us posted with pictures and updates. I slept well knowing Clare was looking after things while we were away.
I used Clare to watch my dog, Hank, for a weekend away. This was my first Rover experience and she was great. I didn't even have to ask for updates because she sent them proactively everyday. After meeting her, I felt much more at ease with leaving my dog. I would highly recommend Clare and am very appreciative of how well she took care of Hank. Thanks so much, Clare!

I will respect their space and I will make sure to check the rules and expectations. If there is a yard I will make sure to pick up after the dog. If there is no yard, I’ll take the dog on a substantial walk, based on how the owner would like them walked. Of course with cats I will give them their privacy if they're more shy or I will play and cuddle with them if they let me!

I would like to know any restrictions the dog/pet has, whether food, behavior, etc. I would like to know if the pet is friendly with humans, other animals, etc. I would love to know if the dog prefers long walks or would rather run in the yard or at a local park. I plan on having some toys and treats, so let me know their diet as well if they dislike certain treats.
A typical day
I will get to know the dog through play and through waking. I know to step down, extend my hand, and wait for the dog to sniff and get to know me. Once we have done that, we will play with any toys that I have or the owner has. I will spend as much time outside based on the weather.

Availability
Summer for me ends August 9th so I will only be able to watch pets overnight or sit for pets who can be alone between 7 and 3:30. I will have some weekend availability as well. I have access to a car and I am happy to either hang out with pets who need full time attention or part time attention.
