Pet care experience
We live in a resort town & as such host primarily visiting dogs (We LOVE locals too.) Exclusive to boarding and daycare, I ONLY HOST 1 GUEST DOG in my home at a time to provide you the assurance that your furbaby has my undivided attention. With my 3yr old submissive dog, Silas, your dog will get PLENTY of play time! I'm a 53 yr old outdoor-loving female professional & 12 years full-time Vail local. I work from a home office. Staying overnight? The pups can pick a dog bed and dive into the tub of toys. We'll likely start the day with outdoor activity and end with cuddle time to make sure they don't miss you. If crate trained, I prefer you to bring it. Please let me know if your pup is off-leash recall trained and interested in outdoor adventures. We live near many trails and have an off-leash dog park within walking distance.

Thankful for Clare keeping my pup safe, active, and well loved over a long weekend. My Shiba Inu isn’t always the friendliest to other dogs but Clare’s fur baby, Silas, was great with him! Everett hopes to come back soon!

I have a fenced deck and a passive teenage neutered lab rescue mix pup named Silas (male.) He makes for a great play buddy. While outside of the deck, your dog will always be leashed, and only off when given permission at a park or trail. All medications and allergens are locked away for safety. I’m ok with puppies (crated, house trained only) and seniors. All dogs must be fully house-trained.

How active is your pet? Ranging from a couch-cuddler to an endurance hike/run? Is your pup an active barker? We don't do well with frequent barkers due to a neighbor. Can your pup climb stairs? Our house is 3 flights of stairs so your pup should be capable of climbing up/down.
A typical day
Walks, dog park, hiking trails, cuddle time. With active dogs, we may go hiking, snowshoeing, skinning, backcountry ski touring - all adjusted based on age and fitness level. My dog, Silas, will always be along for the adventure so your pup will have a playmate.

Availability
I work from home (a separate office above the garage), which allows me to be with the dogs all day and evening. Your pup may come to the office, sit on the deck, run errands & be my outdoor buddy - skinning, hiking, riding, dog park, you name it. With a flexible schedule, we'll often take breaks to hike or go to the nearby dog park. If you'd like, s/he can even go for a swim in the river!
