Pet care experience
My husband Kell and I, a writer and a production editor in educational publishing, office in our home, so we are home most of the time to give 24-hour attention to and care for fur babies. We have a large, grassy, tick- and flea-free backyard to play yard games with the dogs so that they receive daily exercise. In addition, we have many squirrels that give the dogs day-long activity. We also allow the dogs to be free in the house with us without being caged. We encourage snuggling beside us on the sofa for a nap while we read or work. Weather permitting, we can walk the dogs at our nearby neighborhood park. In addition, we also have dog doors which allow dogs to come in and out when necessary. Please note that we have a single, overall charge so that we do not charge for extra services such as giving medication, walking etc. (FYI: We don’t consider ourselves certified to give injected medication, although, we would consider informed dialogue regarding matters of this type.) We have been dog owners most of our lives, and so we are accustomed to and welcome fur baby love. Our motto is to care for them, spoil them, and send them home to their owners—just like grandchildren. About this sitter. We both office in our home, so we are available at all times to provide comfort, love and attention to fur babies who stay with us. We both have had dogs as pets all our lives. We prefer that all our guests be at least three years old. Our pets have all passed away from old age and other natural causes, and now we prefer to take care of other people's pets. About my yard The yard is considered large by most, and it is fenced and dog friendly. The terrain is flat and grassy. About puppies: Because we do not cage dogs in our home, and they are largely unrestricted, we prefer not to take dogs under the age of two years. Like any baby, puppies require that the house is puppy-proofed due to habitual chewing, etc. Around the age of two, most dogs cease puppy behaviors and are more aware of inside house rules. If you are looking for a place for a puppy, please check out Rover’s numerous other sitters who may be more able to facilitate puppies. A Note Regarding Pricing: For pet parents considering using us for Rover dog boarding as opposed to a conventional kennel, keeping dogs in our home for the past ten years, and giving them a personalized, open-home family dog experience with us is a 24-hour-per-day business. While they are with us, we care for them as we cared for our own dogs. We feel that it is reasonable for us to charge fees that are more in parity with fees from conventional kennels. We enjoy working with and playing with your dogs as if they are ours, but we consider dog boarding a business requiring excellence in our relationship with both the dog parents and their beloved pets.
Reviews
This is the second time we have left our 9 year olds border collie mix with Clanci and Kell and we were SO happy both times. Our dog has come back healthy and happy both times, and Clanci and Kell have been nothing but absolutely wonderful. The second time we went to drop our dog off, he was so excited to be there and sprinted up to the front door, which is the exact reaction we were hoping for. They were great about sending daily updates (which are always appreciated), and it seems like our dog really enjoyed the doggy door providing access to the back yard. Highly recommend!
Clanci and Kell were great! Very responsive and sent pictures while we were away! Rio and my family were very happy with them!
Great people and very friendly
Clanci once again took amazing care of Ace! He absolutely adores going to her house and it puts my mind at ease, allowing me to travel without worry for my fur baby!
