Pet care experience
I have experience with kittens and dogs. When I am with your animals, I give them lots of love and attention. We will be best friends while you are away. My experience past 2 years: I have been successful with crate training (being relaxed and calm in the kennel) and training dogs to recognize hand signals and verbal commands. I started to work on desensitization training with foster pup before she was rehomed. I have not potty trained dogs. I have been successful with training one kitten to leash train. I taught a dog how to play with kitten who was insistent that the dog was his best friend. I currently have two girl cats who have been used to meeting dogs. First day with a new dog is always an adjustment day, but they get use to the dog being around after a while. One of my cats is partially leashed trained and the other is a nap-princess who will not walk under any circumstance on a leash. Please check out my photos! Claire was wonderful with Fletcher. In addition to caring for him she spent time assessing crate use with him and offered some tips for us to use at home. I’m so glad we have found in Claire a great sitter and we will look forward to having her watch our little guy again!
It feels great to know that when we can't take Archie with us, he gets so much love and attention from Clair!

When I spend time with pups or cats, we spend quality time together. I live walks and have a few 30 minute loops that I love to do with the pups. My yard is not fenced in but I either go out with them in the yard on a leash or put a long lead out with an anchor (dogs under 50 lbs only) if we are hanging out for a while. I stay with the animals when they are outside. My cats have gotten use to having dogs around since it means more time outside. The cats have their areas to escape in the house, but usually after a couple hours they will be in whatever room I am in with a pup. If your pup will chase cats, I am sorry but we cannot take your pup. When we are outside, I keep the pup on a leash or yard lead and with me. My cats have learned to share human time with pups and their food area is hidden behind a settee. So far this has deterred even puppies, but their food routine is adjustable. Cats are welcome to join. I have a robotic litterbox that is perfect for multiple cats, but also a spare cat box that I can set up new for your cat.

A typical day
Lots of breaks to sit in the garden, walks, and play breaks. If you have commands or tricks you are practicing, we take breaks throughout the day to practice.

Availability
My daily routine is sometimes flexible. I have a full time position Monday- Friday, but like the opportunity for a break to leave the house and walk around or play with a pup. There are always a few days when I am away from the house 8 hours. I can make adjustments to my schedule with notice. When I am working from home, there are lots of coffee breaks on the patio with pup and walks around the block. My kitties are always jealous when pup takes priory on my lap. 😅 During the weekend, I mainly relax or spend time doing yardwork in the morning, so your pets will get plenty of supervised outside time. I do leave for a couple hours to go to the gym.
