Hello pet parents, I'm Claire! (she/her) I'm a full-time grad student/teacher with a passion for all animals! I grew up with pets and have a deep understanding of animal and behavior. I'm currently raising my pandemic pup, Coppola, and understand the work that goes into caring for a high energy breed with major separation anxiety. My work background is in doggie daycare/boarding where I gained valuable experience caring for dogs of all ages, breeds, and temperament. I am cat and dog First Aid and CPR certified and have a BS in zoology. (I have also received both of my Covid-19 vaccines, but I'm happy to mask up if that's your preference!) I believe in a compassionate and scientific approach to building a bond with your pet and positive reinforcement is key! I can't wait to build this bond with your furry friend so that I can give them the best care possible!

I have a dog who needs regular medication, so I asked Claire to stop in to administer a dose. It was a bit complicated but Claire was easy to communicate with and understood my needs quickly. She promptly sent me a text after her visit so i could rest assured that my dog received his meds. I will definitely call Claire again.
Claire did a wonderful job with my fur baby, Empress. Usually Empress suffers from separation anxiety and will avoid eating when we’re out of town but Claire took the time to make her feel as comfortable as possible and even got her to eat everyday. Claire was super great at responding to all my questions and even sent me daily updates and pictures. 100% would recommend :)

Every dog is different so I like to slowly build trust to make them feel safe and comfortable with me. Verbal and physical communication, treats, mental and physical stimulation all play a role in building a bond. I have experience with with shy and reactive dogs and am confident in my abilities.

Can your dog have treats? Do they have any allergies or environmental triggers? Are they allowed on the furniture? Any other behavioral or health issues I should know about?
A typical day
I love working on simple commands and recall on walks/outings to keep your dog mentally stimulated and build a stronger connection with them. I try to follow their body language to see what time of walk they would most enjoy, whether it be an active rigorous walk or more of a sniff and stroll!

My school schedule is set but otherwise my availability is super flexible. I am happy to incorporate whatever you need into my weekly schedule or do occasional gigs here and there.
