Pet care experience
I come from a family that has owned and loved animals since I was born. I love critters of all kinds whether they are furry, scaly, or slimy! I’ve personally owned medium, large and giant dog breeds. Additionally I’ve adopted several different types of cats, and a variety of small pets including lizards, rabbits, rodents, frogs, and fish! I also have extensive professional experience with horses as I was a competitive equestrian my whole life. I truly consider pet/animal care a passion and hobby of mine. I am well versed in caring for pets across all stages of the life span including animals that have handicaps and special needs. I have and can administer post-op care to a wide range of pets and am comfortable and confident administering medications (pill, liquid, subcut injections, etc) to pets, even ones that are more challenging med takers!

Claire did a great job with the drop-in visits for my two pups. She was very communicative, reliable, and spent extra time playing with them. We really enjoyed the updates and pictures she gave us each day. I highly recommend Claire to take care of your pets!
Claire took great care of my dogs and sugar glider over the July 4th weekend. She was very responsive via text/Rover app and sent pics. I know they were happy to have the company and everything was nice and clean when I arrived home. Thanks again!

I live in Palm Trace Landings, a pet friendly apartment complex in Davie. There are several ponds with trails around them for walks/runs and there is a fenced in bark park at the complex as well. I currently live with another person who also is an experienced pet owner and lover. We currently are the proud parents of a European Doberman Pinscher puppy named Zara (DOB: 12/12/2020). She is extremely friendly to strange adults, children, and other animals of all kinds. She is currently in training to become an AKC good citizen pet. Additional residents in the apartment are our two cats, and some fish. Zelda and Kirby (the two kitties) have experience with puppies/dogs and are tolerant of them and are quite good with other strange cats as well!! My apartment also has a screened in balcony for some extra (and safe) fresh air for your pet in between walk times!

No breed preferences at all. However, most of my experience is with large breeds. I would need to know specific details about their eating and sleeping habits. Do they need to eat away from other pets/people? Are they food aggressive? Are they speed eaters or do they graze? Treat policies for your pet? Do they sleep in a crate? Door open or closed? Allowed to sleep on furniture/bed in your home? How are they on walks/outside? Leash trained? Social capabilities? Prey chase/drive? Do they have a potty schedule? Or are they capable of alerting/informing you when it’s time to go? Any specific aversions or fears I should know (loud noises, bigger dogs, vacuum, etc?) about?
A typical day
I really enjoy going on walks, hikes, and going to the beach! If your pet enjoys doing any of these things I would love to include them and bring them along. If the owner is comfortable with it, I have no issue transporting pets to favorite parks or other places in my personal car for some rec time!

Availability
I moved to the Fort Lauderdale area from Ohio last year as I began a doctoral program at Nova Southeastern in August 2020. Due to this, I have an extensive amount of flexibility and availability in the summers while my class load is late. My clinicals and heavy course loads begin every year in late August. Availability will remain throughout the academic year, however, it will not be as open/flexible
