I hope you have a pawsitive day!

Pet care experience

Hi, thank you for taking the time to view my profile. Having been bought up around many different animals, it has instilled a passion within me for caring and understanding each as having their own personality, history, and individual needs. I therefore aim to tailor my services to the specific requirements of the owners and their pets, which helps me to care for them in the most suitable and compassionate way. I am confident with handling many different breeds and temperaments, building trust between us, and ensuring they get the most from our time together. I am a dog trainer currently offering a structured walk & train service, either as a solo or small group walk (depending on compatibility and location). This helps and includes: •Loose lead walking •Mental and physical stimulation •Teaching manners, obedience and socialisation skills – around dogs, people, waiting at thresholds, safety in outdoor spaces, getting out of the car etc •Socialising around familiar dogs. This helps to build a dogs confidence and as I understand all of the dogs personalities in the groups, (their play styles, likes, dislikes, triggers etc), I will be able to manage and supervise their behaviour with prevention techniques (e.g. advocating for dogs space) and compatibility (e.g. energy level). •Recall training through using long lines and games •Structured play – including sniffing games, tug games and the use of different toys.  I also work on manners and obedience when playing e.g. sit and stay durations, drop it, leave etc. If you want group walks, I will firstly walk your dog by themselves for a few weeks, before introducing them to a compatible group (this may not be suitable for every dog). This helps me to build a trusting relationship and work with your dog, so they understand the structure beforehand. I also offer: Drop-in services for any pet that may need attending to e.g. feeding, playing, letting out and cleaning up any mess they may have made.  I can also work on manners, obedience and socialisation during drop-in visits. This is my full time job, so I'll have plenty of time to walk your dog and drop in to keep them or your cat company. Whilst traveling with your dog in my car they will be fully secured by seat belts and a dog hammock in the back seat for comfort and safety. I also have a big boot, for the big doggies, which has a dog guard in place and dog booster seats for the small pups. I don't have any more than 3 dogs in the car at any one time, and there is enough room for all of them to have their space. I'll be more than happy to answer any questions and help the best I can. I'll look forward to hearing from you and meeting your pets. Have a pawsitive day!

Claire is excellent. She is very diligent, professional and knowledgeable, but most importantly, she built an instant rapport with our dog Frank, and has helped him with his behaviour when walking. Claire always provides a summary of her walks and takes lovely photos of Frank - something we always look forward to when we book with Claire. Highly recommend.

Claire is fantastic! Bonnie loves going for a walk with her and is always so excited when she sees claire at the front door. Claire is great with Bonnie, she understands her training needs and helps us to reinforce lessons, whilst always tiring her out and making walks fun! Claire is super easy to liaise with, she is clear about her availability and always happy to be flexible. Would 100% recommend her 😊

Claire made us feel totally at ease from our meet prior to her looking after our dogs. She was professional, kind and interested in our dogs needs. She turned up bang on time and fulfilled everything we asked of her. She is great with the dogs and have no worries with leaving them in her care. We had a lovely update and lots of information from her visit. We will be using her regularly and thoroughly recommend her to any one in need of a dog sitter or walker.

A typical day

I love to take dogs to many different locations around your area to provide as much mental and physical stimulation as possible with our time together, which offers an enriching experience. This can include woods, fields, parks, lakes etc on or off lead. When taking your dog for a walk, I ensure I have built a relationship with them through games, toys, treats and recall training before letting them off-lead. I also have many different length long lines so they can experience more freedom and exercise whilst also keeping them safe when practicing their recall.
