Sassy or shy - I love them all!

Pet care experience

I grew up with dogs and many other pets, and have been a volunteer dog walker and foster parent at a local shelter since 2017. I’ve also worked with and trained horses while caring for a variety of animals throughout my life. I have two dogs of my own, usually a foster dog, and ten chickens. Caring for animals is something I do because it enriches my life. I do my best to fulfill as many requests as possible. I often have some availability on days that are marked unavailable, so please reach out to see if we can work something out.

Claire was available on such short notice (our second time having her!), and made me and my kitties feel so safe and well taken care of! She’s the absolute best.

Claire is THE BEST!! She made me feel a lot less worried leaving my 2 cats home alone for a week. She was incredibly communicative, helpful, and even made friends with one of the cats. I had issues with our pet cameras and Claire came over twice and fixed them so we could see our fur babies from afar. Could not recommend her enough! I will definitely use her in the future!!

Your home is not my home, so when I am in yours I am always respectful and do my best to maintain standards to your specifications. I am also happy to bring in mail, packages, or do other small tasks that may arise during my visit.

Information Claire B. would like to know about your pet

Please let me know of any behavioral challenges that your dog has such as reactivity, fears, or training goals that you are working on. I am happy to continue reinforcing or build new, good habits while we are out and about. Knowing their quirks will help me be prepared to give them a fun and engaging or relaxing walk. I am not comfortable using chain, prong, or electric collars. If your dog currently uses one of these, please let me know and I can bring a harness or another aid for our walk. If your pet has specific dietary or medical needs please let me know. I carry high value treats like chicken or beef jerky (for dogs), cheese and peanut butter. All are given in very strict moderation. If you prefer a different treat, please let me know.

A typical day

If your dog needs more than just a walk, I'd be happy to toss a ball, kick some toys around the yard or supervise your choice of enrichment. Every dog is different, and I will work with you to give them what they need.
