Animal lover seeks new clients!
Pet care experience
I’ve been a lifelong pet owner and animal lover, so being a sitter comes natural to me. There’s nothing like getting to care for animals. They are always there for us and make us so happy, so I believe it’s my duty to do the same for them. I love taking care of dogs in need, as I know that they’ve helped me out so much in my life too. That is why I volunteer at Philadelphia Animal Welfare Society (PAWS) in addition to offering private pet care services. I grew up with big dogs like German Shepherds and Standard Poodles, so I’m no stranger to larger pups. I’ve also taken lots of obedience classes in the past, so I have experience with training methods and am happy to help with that. I currently volunteer with PAWS, and have learned so much in that capacity! They’ve taught me a great deal about how to work with animals that need a little extra TLC to thrive. I even donate 3% of every stay to PAWS, as it’s my little way of giving back! When taking on a new client, I typically like to schedule a meet-and-greet. It’s a great way to make sure that we’re all a good fit for one another, which is so important to me. Likewise, it gives us the opportunity to chat face-to-face about your pup and your care expectations. No one knows your dog better than you do, so it’s always great to chat with owners in person about what makes their pup tick! If you are more comfortable having a video meet-and-greet due to COVID-19, I totally understand and am happy to accommodate that as well. I’ve worked in hospitality all my life, so it’s my job to make sure that your needs and your pup’s needs are met. To that end, I believe that communication is the bedrock of any good stay. I’m always happy to send detailed daily updates so you know just how your pooch is doing! From meal times to exercise times, I’m always happy to send you as much information as you need. You can definitely look forward to being kept in the loop.
Reviews
Claire did an awesome job dog sitting for us. She took great care of our pup and kept our house in great order and constantly sent us update pics. She also took our dog to his favorite dog park multiple times during the stay. I would highly recommend Claire to anyone looking for a high quality dog sitter!
You know Claire is an amazing dog-sitter because she was recommended to me by friends and now I’m recommending her to everyone! She has extensive experience with dogs, including dogs with separation anxiety and other reactivity. She was very patient with Lemon during the meet and greet and was highly communicative. She coordinated with Lemon’s daycare and neighborhood friends to make sure he was comfortable and had some familiarity. While I was away, Claire sent me updates about Lemon and always ask for my feedback when “troubleshooting” Lemon being shy or anxious. I’m so grateful for how she cared for Lemon and also for how she cared for my house while I was away. I would definitely have Claire watch Lemon again!
Claire has a great demeanor with Reggie, and could tell Reggie would like her off the bat. Thanks Claire! Will continue to use her!
We adopted Nash in July and have only left him a handful of times, so each time is a bit difficult. I am going to feel much more at ease traveling now because Claire is officially Nash's new favorite person! Not only did she text us updates throughout the day, she also left our place super neat and organized. Claire was communicative, kind, and transparent and we will definitely be rebooking with her!

Safety, trust & environment
I like to stay in the client's home with the pets because that is the environment that they are most comfortable in, and when owners are away I do my best to make them feel as loved and cared for as possible. I am open to doing whatever the pet is interested in to keep them busy and feeling loved while their owner is away.

Information Claire would like to know about your pet
Some things I like to learn ahead of time: - Would you like to schedule a meet-and-greet before the stay? - What’s your preferred method of communication? - Does your pup have any health issues that need to be tended to? For instance, dietary restrictions, medicine, or behavior triggers? - Do you have a vet nearby that you trust? - Is your dog spayed/neutered? - Does your pup like to stick to a given schedule, like regular walks in the morning and evening? - What does your pup do well around? What does your pup try to avoid? - What’s the best way to spoil your pup? In general I need to know what to expect with how the dog is around other dogs, people, etc so that there are no surprises.
A typical day
I like to maintain an active lifestyle, so your pup will be right at home with me if they like to get lots of exercise! We will go on walks to nearby parks and play with any toys that their owner pre-approves. I like to do a combination of activity and hanging indoors depending on the your requests and your pooch’s abilities.
