INSURED K9 trainer & Caretaker team

Pet care experience

Hello, Cipriana here! I’m excited to announce that when you book with me you will now be getting two pet care professionals for the price of one! Since 2017 I’ve been providing pet care and boarding services as the primary care provider. While I provided the majority of the care, Pam (who also happens to be my mom), has interacted and assisted with my private clients. Now she has officially joined me in helping to provide care for your extended furry family. Pam will mainly be assisting with pet check ins and dog walks in the Kingston, Saugerties, and Woodstock area while I’ll be mostly be focusing on dog training, dog and cat boarding, daycare, and some out-call services in Saugerties. Our main goal is the safety and happiness of your pets and with our years of combined experience, I believe that we can provide that to your pets as well as provide peace of mind to you. As a team we have animal first aid experience as well as experience administering fluids, topical, oral, and injectable treatments. We also have an extensive awareness of the foods that are dangerous to dogs and cats. One of the biggest value additions when choosing us to provide care for your pets is that you have two minds and sets of experiences at your pet’s disposal. This allows us to handle more complicated medical cases, emergencies, and last minute requests in a way that a sole provider may not be able to do. It also allows for peace of mind to our clients because if for any reason, one of us is unavailable, there is another qualified individual ready to step in at any moment to assist with care. This level of peace of mind is highly valued by our clients who travel abroad or have senior/special-needs animals, which is where we specialize. We are SO excited to get to serve you and your pets and we hope you’ll read on to learn more about our services. About Cipriana - As a dog trainer and pet care professional with over 6+ years of professional experience with cats and multiple dog breeds I am up for anything. I’ve worked with animals daily as a sitter, dog trainer, kennel attendant at a local veterinary hospital, and as a shelter volunteer. Working in vet med and attending veterinary technology courses as well as having pets of my own, working in local shelters, completing disaster search and rescue, and emergency disaster care, has given me a strong, intuition and medical aptitude with pet animals which allows me to keep a keen eye on pets in my care. I've worked with all ages of animals as well as those with severe behavioral and health issues both in my work, home, and in shelter situations. If you want someone who is comfortable around all types of dogs as well as confident in their abilities, I believe I am the handler for you. About Pam- “~coming soon~” Our schedules vary as we work both inside and outside of the home with various clients every week. We do our best to accommodate your schedule and special pet requests. Policies - It is our policy to reserve the right to adjust prices on lesser valued services (Walking and Drop-Ins) if they are 15 minutes or more from our home. If the service location is approximately 20 minutes away from our home, we may consider it outside of our service area, especially in regards to locations on the east bank of the Hudson River. In regards to drop-ins and walks, we offer longer walk and drop-in requests for an additional fee. Please contact us regarding rates for your extended visits.

Pam is a wonderful kitty sitter! She and Cipriana are the only ones I would trust my pets with when I travel. Can’t recommend enough.

Cipriana and Pamela took care of Tucker while we were skiing at Hunter Mountain. Their responses were very quick. They gave Tucker a nice bath and brushing too. We will definitely be a repeater in the future.

Cipriana is someone I can count on and rely on when I travel to care for my kitty. She’s detailed, kind and takes the time to make sure she has face time with my very shy kitty. Thanks as always.

Safety, trust & environment

In my home, I REQUIRE ALL pets to be crated, gated, or penned for their safety when not under direct supervision. This helps me maintain the safety of all guests and of my own pets while when you are furry family members are under my care. Because I host on average 1-2 households of pets at a time it is vital, and that all pets are comfortable with crates, large indoor kennels or dog gates and with being unattended in those settings for at leash 4 hours at a time. While in my home, especially for first time, guests, your for a family member will spend their time in my dedicated pet spaces and does not have free/unattended access to roam the house. This allows me to ensure the highest safety standards for your pet while they are in my care allowing me to control what other animals and people they interact with, when applicable, during their stay. This also helps avoid destructive behaviors that could be harmful for your pet as well as accidents, like doors and windows being open, leaving a potential escape hazards out of the reach of your pet. This does mean that they need to be mostly comfortable with separation from me as I do NOT provide CONSTANT care (aka 24/7 supervision), In the home, you can expect your furry family member to get regular socialization, including, but not limited to, playtime, enrichment activities, or casual companionship, based on their personality. If appropriate, our guests have the opportunity to interact with our resident animals. In order to do that, they must socially appropriate and dog friendly. However, if that’s not the case, there will be no shortage of activities for them to enjoy solo, or with a human playmate! Because my yard is not fenced all clients are required to be supervised and leashed outside at all times. I also have an outdoor tether available to use by client dogs which may be more comfortable for those unfamiliar with going potty on leash. - Cipriana In client homes and on walks we require all dogs to be leash or completely and securely fenced in at all times (this does not include electric fences).

Information Cipriana & Pamela C. would like to know about your pet

We’d love to know whether your dog has any prior experience with cats or other dogs. We would also like to know whether your dog is spayed or neutered. We also ask that you inform us of any known behavioral issues. Those issues may not deter us from caring for your dog however, knowing them ahead of time will allow us to properly prepare and make your dog's experience as enjoyable as possible. Additionally, We would like to know what you allow your dog to do around the house so we know what they are permitted to do while in our care.

A typical day

We are all about animal enrichment of both the mental and physical variety. Please bring with your dog and I am Richmond activities and then thoroughly enjoy or are used to so we can readily offer them to your pup. On a typical day, dogs are pottied first thing in the morning, followed by breakfast, (when applicable). Then they will spend a couple hours by themselves in their crates or kennels while I meet with clients or do other work. Then I have a midday everybody goes outside for a potty session, followed by either playing or quality time out of the kennel/crate. This might look different for each dog. For some, play will not be appropriate so and enrichment game or spending some time on the couch may be what their afternoon outing looks like. After that they are expected to spend another couple hours having some downtime before everyone gets another run outside with some additional in enrichment/playtime followed by dinner (when applicable). after dinner, they will get another couple hours of rest, or play and enrichment, depending on their activity levels. They are again broight outside right before bed If your dog needs to be “groomed” while they are in our care please just let us know. Bathing and brushing is no problem at all as long as you are pup is well acclimated to bathing and brushing.

Availability

Our schedules varies greatly by week and booking status. In regards to boarding or daycare expect your furry family members to be integrated into our schedule. This means that we will be in and out of the home as normal but, will make sure that they are pottied regularly and given the the love they need! This means that we do NOT provide constant care and REQUIRE your pet to be comfortable being left alone penned, crated, or gated away from other pets while unattended depending on their comfort level! This also means that pets need to be content and non-destructive while being left alone. This is for the safety of your pet and the safety of other pets in our care. You may also like to know that the rate listed for house sitting includes, breakfast, dinner, and my overnight time. While I strive to spend as much time as possible in your home during a sitting, this is the maximum amount of time that I can guarantee during my business periods without additional service fees.
