I've been owned by cats and dogs since I was a small child. In 2020 I adopted a pair of lovable, goofy orange tabby cat brothers who are calm as can be until I sneeze. For a while I was adopted by a three-legged german shepherd mix named Shadow who lived to chase tennis balls and snuggle on the couch. Right after college I had Pete, a 4 foot long ball python who would crawl inside my shirt and curl up for warmth. When I visit houses with shy cats, I'll often hear "my cat won't come to strangers." Yet that same cat will soon approach and sometimes even deign to let me touch her luxurious coat. I get along great with dogs and appreciate the less common pets such as snakes, geckos, fish, and hamsters.
