These Dogs Were Made for Walking

Pet care experience

I'll always be consistent in temperament with your dog and I will always take into consideration what your dog's personality and his/her likes/dislikes are. I understand sometimes dogs have bad days too and I read animals very well and know when to change plans to suit the needs of your pet. I understand some dogs don't mind being away from familiar things; family, home, toys and there are those that want only their things around them and I will always make accommodations for a comfort level to fit the needs of both personalities. My experience and love of animals and my intuition regarding their feelings and needs on a day to day basis will make your fur baby feel very safe, secure and very loved.

Cindy was very flexible while watching my pup, which put me at ease while traveling. Her care for dogs is reflected in her easy-going and dedicated approach to dog-boarding. Highly recommend Cindy to watch your pup.

Cindy was great and you could tell she is a total dog person. Which is exactly what you want in the person whom is watching your fur baby. She accommodated us on a short notice which was really nice! We have a young dalmatian, so he is just a full ball of energy. Cindy was great with him, she was patient and kind. I also really appreciated how understanding she was with him being a young dog. Cindy also did a good job of keeping us updated through the day!

Cindy is a wonderful dog mom to two fabulous pups. She loves them as much as her own her children. She is so caring and loving to pets. Loves playing and taking them for walks. Loves to just chill and hang with them. A wonderful dog mom with a huge, warm heart for animals.

Information Cindy D. would like to know about your pet

I would like to know if the dog is able to be comfortable away from his/her things or if the dog is very nervous and high strung away from its owners. I'd like to know if the dog pees a bit when its nervous or may not remember it's good potty habits if it's in a new place. Is the dog a nipper when nervous? Does the dog have any training, any house manners, has it only been an outside dog, has it only been an inside dog? Does it have issues with thunder/lighting, storms, wind? Will the dog eat if left with a stranger for a day or longer? Special dietary needs, medications? Veterinary information would need to be available. Anything special the owner thinks I would need to know about their pet. Breed preferences; I would like to say that preferably I'd like to stay away from very small breeds, only for the fact that in my experience with smaller breeds they tend to be more nervous, they bark a lot, and I have experienced a lot of biting when nervous from the smaller breeds. Please note, those are my experiences with the smaller breeds. Oddly enough too, I find that typically I do better with longer hair dogs rather than shorter, smooth coated dogs. I believe that is because short hair/smooth coated dogs are usually of the sporting/hunting type breeds and have super high energy and I've not raised any of these breeds nor have I been around many of these breeds except at the dog parks. I have to include; even though I know it's not really a specific breed but a mix of several different breeds, what is now called a Pit Bull. It's now so much the dog itself, but I don't know what owners have taught or NOT taught the dog and frankly I have issues with the people more than the breed and what has happened in so many incidents with what is now called the Pit Bull. So that is not a dog I would consider taking care of; however, I have met some really cute, sweet ones at the dog park. I would prefer to take medium to large long haired, or curly haired (the doodles are great), for my clients. Husky's can be a handful if the owner's haven't done any work with them so I'd take them and see how they behave. I do know my dogs, I know them very well. There are no bad dogs ever. I enjoy them all, some dogs inherently though just come with more calm, mild manners and that makes them so enjoyable.

A typical day

I have many places that I can take dogs for walks and to play (with owners permission of course). If allowed there are dog parks near my area that are very clean, safe and not over crowded. There are many beautiful walking paths that a short driving distance from my area, that with permission, I could buckle up some pups and drive to some locations and, on leash, walk in some beautiful, quiet, cool treed areas. I am always careful to go at times of day when it is cool out, and I know there won't be a lot of people out, usually during work hours. This way the walk can be peaceful and stress free and your pet can sniff and enjoy themselves to their full extent. At the dog parks, depending on which one, and per permission of the pet parent, it will be fetch, frisbee, chase (me), or other dogs (non aggressive), if pet parents approve I have a wading pool in my backyard that the dogs can splash around in and drink out of the hose and play in the water if they enjoy that type of thing. Really, I'll play whatever the dog asks me to play too. Some dogs have their own idea(s) of what they want to do and that's what I would do. I would also have quiet time for the dog. I'd find out, of course from the pet parent if their dog had a schedule that he/she liked to keep for him/herself (naps). I've always found it's nice if a dog can have some quiet time and if they have a chew toy they like or a baby they like or a bed they enjoy then mid to early afternoon the dog could be inside, especially in the summer/warmer months and enjoy air conditioning and snooze a bit. As the day goes by and it starts to cool down outside we could go out to the backyard and play more or just be outside. I find that some dogs don't have to go, go, go all the time they just like the company of humans. That is something I would learn with each dog but I do still like to keep them low key outside when it's hot and let them get back up to speed once it's cooler in the evening. I'm not one to ignore a pet ever. I there is a dog in site, they get my attention. If I am caring for a dog they have my full on attention, I talk to them 89% of the time I am awake. I play with them, interact in some way, pet them. Sometimes I wonder if the dog is thinking something like "this lady is going to drive me nuts"! I don't treat them like human baby's but I do have a ton of fun with them and I love to play with them and I do keep them on somewhat of a lite schedule and I enjoy them so much.
